    The construction of the specialty nurse team

    Objective To explore the model for training and use of the specialty nurse team . Methods We identified the requirements of specialty nurse training,standardized the usage of specialty nurse,refined duties,and established a management model for the training and use of the specialty nurse team.Results More than 400 specialty nurse were trained in recent five years. The training improved the nursing quality and the professional identity of nursing staff. Conclusion The specialty nurse team could effectively improve the service level and increase the influence of nursing.

    Development of index system of position management for specialty nurses in wound and ostomy

    Objective To develop a scientific and practical management index system for specialty nurses in wound and ostomy,so as to provide reference for the selection,training,appointment and assessment of the nurses.Methods Through extensive review of domestic and foreign literature and semistructured interviews,a preliminary draft for the index system of specialty nurses in wound and ostomy was developed. Two rounds Delphi method were used to consult the experts from nursing management,wound ostomy nursing,nursing education field. Results The positive coefficient of two round expert consultation was 100% . The authoritative coefficient of experts was 0.93. The variation coefficients of each index ranged from 0 to 0.176. The index system of position management for specialty nurse in wound and ostomy included 6 first-level indexes (position description,position setting,position training,position recruitment,position assessment,position salary),20 second-level indexes and 59 third-level indexes.Conclusion The reliability and practicability of the index system of position management for specialty nurses in wound ostomy are acceptable. It can provide reference for hospitals to manage positions for specialty nurses.

    The paper took Peking Union Medical College Hospital as an example to introduce the model of nursing practice and management of specialty nurses. The practice included providing direct nursing care,conducting nursing consultation participating in MDT,taking charge of specialist training and guidance,promoting clinical research and technical innovation,and taking part in the professional quality improvement.

    Objective To explore the role orientation of specialty nurses in rehabilitation which are suitable for Chinese practice. Methods A qualitative research was conducted. Through focus group interviews 38 interviewers including 8 rehabilitation nursing practitioners,8 nursing managers,6 physicians,8 therapists,and 8 patients were interviewed. The interview data were analyzed by Colaizzi method. Results Four themes regarding roles of sub-spe-cialty in rehabilitation emerged from the data set including specialty nurses in rehabilitation,health manager,healthenabler,and the multidisciplinary coordinator. Conclusion It is necessary for the medical personnel in the rehabilitation area to pay attention to the role development of the rehabilitation specialty nurses and expand some roles and responsibilities in part of areas.

    After 10 years’ practice,Changhai Hospital affiliated to the Naval Military Medical University has built a new staged specialty nurse training with “selection,training,certification and use” integrated together. We regarded the junior specialty nurses as cornerstones,intermediate specialty nurse as the backbone forces,and advanced specialty nurses as the leading forces. The path of specialty nurse development was identified. The article introduced the new training model of specialty nurses,and listed the existing problems in the training of specialty nurses in our country,and made suggestions which could provide sreference for the training of specialty nurses in China.

    Department of critical care medicine of Zhongshan Hospital began to build up the respiratory therapists team in 2015. We have accumulated some experiences in terms of the selection of respiratory therapists,training of respiratory therapists,evaluation of respiratory therapists,and clinical work model for respiratory therapists.We have also formed a preliminary organizational structure and regulation.

    According to the 11th five-year plan,the 12th five-year plan and the 13th five-year plan of the outline program for development of Chinese nursing,the emergency specialty nurse training in Shanghai was conducted from 2006 to 2019. The training plan,methods,and assessment were constantly adjusted during this period. More than 2 700 specialty nurses in emergency were trained,which met the needs of the development of emergency nursing in different stages. This paper summarized the characteristics of three stages of specialty nurse training from four aspects:basis,training plan,training materials and effect evaluation.

    Objective To explore the effects of training of specialty nurses in nutrition. Methods Thirty-one specialty nurses in nutrition were selected and trained. Contents of the training included knowledge education and clinical practice. Assessments were conducted regularly to know the training effects. Results The mean score of clinical practice of all participants was 80.42±7.21 which was above the required score level of 70. The mean score of knowledge assessment was (42.48±6.47) and 28 of them passed the assessment. The mean score of daily assessment was 39.90±7.84 and 29 of them passed the assessment. Conclusion Training of specialty nurse in nutrition can firm their knowledge and improve clinical practice. Besides,it can promote nurses learn the related knowledge actively. Nurses can put what they have learned into practice.

    Objective To introduce the specialty nurse training program in Wuxi city,in order to optimize the program and provide evidence for its improvement. Methods This paper analyzed the training objectives、training principles、schedule、entry qualification、curriculum offering、training outline、training methods and effects tracking. They also investigated specialty nurses from specialty nurse training program. Results By the end of 2018,a total of 735 specialty nurses from different level hospitals in Wuxi got trained. One-time pass rate was (91.82 ±3.57)%. 93.74% of the students thought that the specialty nurse training program has played a full or partial role.Conclusion The specialty nurse training mode is feasible and effective.
    The effects of an intravenous infusion therapy training for specialty nurses

    Objective To evaluate the infusion therapy training effects for specialty nurses based on their core competencies. Methods A retrospective research method was used to investigate previous participants’professional core competency,satisfaction with the training,and work situation after one year of training. Interviews were also conducted to know their attitude towards training and experiences. Results The examination scores and qualification rate of all participants were high. It was generally believed that the training content is comprehensive,scientific and reasonable. The total satisfaction rate was 100% . Conclusion The infusion therapy training for specialty nurses based on core competence is effective. Further research needs to be done to dynamically evaluate the training effects. The training contents needs to be adjusted and improved accordingly.

    The influence of professional values on core competence of specialty nurses in diabetes

    Objective To understand the professional value and core competence of specialty nurses in diabetes,and to analyze the influence of professional values on core competence. Methods By convenience sampling method,234 specialty nurses in diabetes in Anhui province were investigated by Nursing Professional Values Scale and Self-assessment Questionnaire on core competence. Results The average score of professional values of specialty nurse in diabetes was 3.86±0.62. The score of core competence was3.87±0.62. There was a positive correlation between professional values and core competence of specialty nurse in diabetes r=0.523,P<0.001. The professional values could independently explain 18.6% of the total variance in core competence. Conclusion The professional values of specialty nurses in diabetes are above the average level,and the core competence is generally at a high level. The two factors are positively correlated. Nursing managers should take active measures to improve the professional value level of specialty nurse in diabetes and accordingly to improve their core competence.

Relevant suggestions were proposed based on the current practice in China. We aimed to provide references to improve the training,certification,evaluation and management system for nutrition support nurses development. Besides,we hoped physicians and nurses can cooperate together to contribute to the nutrition support nurses development.

    Objective To explore the students’ experiences of caring of older people during their clinical practice. Methods Ten students who have finished their clinical practice were interviewed. The data were analyzed using Colaizzi’s seven stage framework. Results Three main themes were identified and they were “positive inter-action","invisible geriatric nursing",and "moral distress". Conclusion Undergraduate nursing students could not see the "real" nursing during their clinical placement and experience moral distress. Schools and hospitals should work together to improve the acknowledgement of nursing students towards aging and increase their abilities of caring of the older people.

    Objective To evaluate the effects of knowledge internalization strategies applied in Medical Nursing among undergraduate students. Methods The knowledge internalization strategies were introduced and incorporated into the course of Medical Nursing among 99 undergraduate nursing students of year 3. Internalizations before class,during class,and after class were formed. Results All the students passed the examination and the score was(78.42±5.82). The percentage of their satisfaction with the new teaching method was between 76.8% and 82.8%.Conclusion Teaching based on knowledge internalization is helpful to improve the effects of students’ learning and satisfaction with the teaching.

    Objective To explore the effects of information teaching applied in the Emergency Nursing Skills on students’ examination performance. Methods One class of sophomore students in nursing were selected as information teaching group. Students in another class was chosen as routine teaching group. Comparing the paper and skill examination of the two groups of students. Results The mean score of paper and skill examination of the students in the information teaching group were higher than those of the control group (t=7.924,P<0.001;t=5.171,P<0.001)。Conclusion Information teaching can promote the teaching process and improve the teaching effects further.
    A survey of disease acceptance of patients with maintenance peritoneal dialysis

    Objective To investigate the disease acceptance of patients with peritoneal dialysis,and to analyze its influencing factors. Methods A total of 156 patients from 4 peritoneal dialysis centers in Henan province were investigated with the Acceptance of Illness Scale(AIS). Results The total score of acceptance of illness scale was(23.37±6.93). Age,significant life events in recent half a year were the major influential factors(P<0.05),which explained 24.2% of the total variance. Conclusion Disease acceptance of patients with peritoneal dialysis is on the medium level. Health care provider should pay more attention to relevant factors such as age,    significant life events in recent half a year and develop tailored interventions to help these patients live with the best psychological status.

    Based on the existing hospital information system,the preoperative visiting information system was developed through real-time interactive terminal. The modules including preoperative evaluation,preoperative education,psychological care,quality control,and training management were established. The statistical function was added simultaneously. All the contents of preoperative visit were included in the system to make the system remind intelligently,warning early,and make clinical decision,all of which can make the visiting convenient,fast and effective.Through this system,medical resources and information can be shared and exchanged to ensure the safety of patients to a great extent.

    Objective To describe the level of acceptance of disability and exercise compliance in stroke outpatients and to explore the correlation of these two variables.    Methods One hundred and ninety-six stroke outpatients were selected and the Acceptance of Disability Scale and the Exercise Compliance Scale were used. Results The score of acceptance of disability was 76.18±14.11. The score of exercise compliance was 33.74±9.26. The score of acceptance of disability was positively correlated with that of exercise compliance r=0.401,P<0.001. Conclusion Stroke outpatients’ acceptance of disability and exercise compliance need to be improved.    Medical staff should pay attention to improving stroke outpatients’  acceptance of disability,improving their self-assessment for exercise effect and self-learning so as to promote their rehabilitation.

    The effects of grading management of dysphagia on reducing stroke-associated pneumonia

    Objective To explore the effects of grading management of dysphagia on reducing stroke-associated pneumonia. Methods A total of 560 patients with dysphagia in the Department of Neurology,the first affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January to June 2018 were selected and assigned into the interventional group. Another 512 patients with dysphagia from June to December 2017 in the same hospital were treated as the control group. According to the results of water swallow test,targeted interventions were adopted for acute those patients. Food character was changed by adding thickener for 2~3 test level. Intermittent tube feeding was provided for those with 4~5 test level. The patients in the control group with 2 test level or above were treated with tube feeding. Results Swallowing function in the experimental group was improved more significantly than that of the control group(P<0.05). The incidence of stroke-related pneumonia was reduced more than that of the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Grading management of dysphagia can significantly improve the swallowing function of patients and reduce the incidence of post-stroke related pneumonia.
