In the background of Healthy China, strengthening the construction of a “double-qualified” nursing undergraduate teachers is the foundation for cultivating outstanding nursing talents. The School of Nursing at Soochow University has established a “double-qualified” faculty pool and optimized the selection and deployment process by strictly setting admission conditions for the “four certificates”. In addition, attention has been paid to the continuous development of the teaching staff, the integrated pre service and post service training and development system. Still,a management mechanism of survival of the fittest has been established by setting up diversified incentive measures, and ensuring the vitality and competitiveness of the teaching staff. This effective experience can provide new ideas and references for the construction of a “double-qualified” teaching team in nursing majors in other universities.

Objective To explore the characteristics of the deep and surface learning approaches of nursing undergraduates in blended learning,so as to provide a reference for improving the teaching design and improving the teaching effect. Methods The learning approaches of 3 841 students from 11 colleges and universities in the blended courses through convenient sampling were measured using the Revise Two-factor Study Process Questionnaire(R-SPQ-2F). Results The median scores of the 3 841 students were 33(30,38) in deep learning and 28(23,31) in surface learning. The majority of students’ deep learning scores were at middle and high levels(53.8% and 40.1% respectively),while the majority of students’ surface learning scores displayed middle and low levels(53.7% and 31.5% respectively). The non-parametric median test disclosed a statistically significant difference(P<0.01) in students’ deep and surface learning scores among different institutions and courses. Spearman’s correlation analysis showed that deep learning did not have a relationship with homework volume(P>0.05),but exhibited a negative correlation with course difficulty(P<0.05) and positive correlations with learning outcomes and satisfaction(P<0.01). On the other hand, surface learning was not associated with homework volume or course difficulty(P>0.05) and instead presented negative correlations with both learning outcomes and satisfaction(P<0.01). Conclusion Nursing undergraduates in blended courses are more likely to use deep learning, while surface learning also has its positive significance. Teachers should pay attention to students’ learning experience, stimulate their motivation to learn, and appropriately adopt different learning approaches to achieve the best learning effect.

Objective To understand the learning experience of undergraduates participating in the Midwifery Comprehensive Experiment course based on situational simulation teaching, and to provide reference for teaching reform of the course. Methods The situational simulation teaching activity of Midwifery Comprehensive Experiment course with 45 credit hours was implemented from February 2022 to June 2022 for 52 undergraduate students majoring in midwifery of grade 2019. In June 2023,focus group interviews were conducted after students completing the 44-week clinical internship. Thematic analysis method was conducted to analyze the data. Results Two themes about students’ learning experience were extracted. ①The sense of achievement from professional growth:through learning the course, students had established systematic clinical and scientific research thinking, improved team cooperation, strain and communication skills, enhanced professional confidence, and gained professional growth. ②Helplessness in the face of learning difficulties:facing the lack of unified procedures, operating standards, learning summary materials, etc.,students inclined to depend on "authority and constraints",observed that there was an unbridled "gap" between theory and practice, and felt the helpless of learning difficulties such as "incomplete learning" of specialized knowledge. Conclusion The Midwifery Comprehensive Experiment course based on situational simulation teaching can enhance the self-confidence of students, promote their professional growth, therefore highly recognized by the sutdents. However, there are also difficulties to be solved, which put forward higher requirements for the teaching team of midwifery.

Abstract To understand the current situation of pulmonary rehabilitation benefits in stable older COPD patients and analyze its influencing factors so as to provide reference for clinical promotion of pulmonary rehabilitation benefits in patients. Methods Retrospective collection of clinical data was carried out in 173 stable COPD patients who completed lung rehabilitation courses in a tertiary hospital of Nantong City from August 2020 to April 2023. Based on the changes in 6-minute walk test and St. George’s Respiratory Questionnaire(SGRQ) scores before and after participating in lung rehabilitation courses, patients were divided into benefit group and non-benefit group. Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of lung rehabilitation benefits for patients. Results Among 173 patients who completed lung rehabilitation courses,93(53.76%) achieved benefits. Logistic regression analysis showed that age(OR=0.921),baseline 6-minute walk test(OR=0.976),baseline SGRQ score (OR=1.221),self-efficacy(OR=1.381),and comorbid osteoporosis(OR=0.406) were the influencing factors for pulmonary rehabilitation benefits in stable older COPD patients(P<0.05). Conclusion Stable COPD patients have a lower rate of pulmonary rehabilitation benefits, and patients with poorer the baseline 6-minute walk test results, higher baseline SGRQ score and good self-efficacy are more likely to experience pulmonary rehabilitation benefits. The older in age and combined with osteoporosis hold higher the risk of not benefiting from pulmonary rehabilitation. Clinical medical staff need to consider the factors that affect the benefits of pulmonary rehabilitation interventions for patients, improve the intervention plan to promote the recovery of the patients.

Objective To provide an evidence-based basis for nursing staffs to effectively prevent the elderly’s migration stress and help them adapt to living in a nursing institution by systematically reviewing and synthesizing qualitative studies of the elderly’s migration experience. Methods Qualitative researches on the experience of elderly migration to nursing institution for the aged were retrieved from CNKI、VIP、Wangfang Data,SinoMed,Web of Science,PubMed,Embase and CINAHL. The retrieval time was from the establishment of the database to May 2023. The selection, extraction and integration process were conducted independently by two researchers, and the quality of the included articles were evaluated. Meta-integration was carried out by aggregating integration method for qualitative data integration. Results A total of nine studies were included, all of which were rated B in quality evaluation. Thirty-four research results with clear credibility were extracted and eight new categories were formed, which were integrated into four integrated results:the reasons for the elderly to migrate to nursing institutions and their attitudes towards migration;experiencing the impact of relocation to nursing home;the coping style of the elderly during the relocation of nursing home;the needs of the elderly after moving to the nursing home. Conclusion There are various reasons that elderly people migrate to nursing home, and their attitudes toward migration vary. During the migration process, they may experience stress reactions and adopt different ways of adjustment, and present diverse support needs. Managers and nursing staffs of nursing home should have comprehensive understanding of the experience of elderly people moving to pension institutions, and provide a reference perspective to help elderly people with relocation needs adapt to life in pension institutions smoothly.

Objective To provide a scoping review of studies related to the health information needs of breast cancer patients and a reference for relevant studies in the future. Methods The literature on health information needs of breast cancer patients in databases were searched by computer including PubMed,Web of Science,CINAHL,Embase,Cochrane Library,CNKI,VIP,and Wanfang. The search period was set from the establishment of the databases to July 2,2023. After that, the retrieved literature was screened, summarized, and analyzed by two researchers. Results A total of 15 articles were included. Patients had the information needs about treatment, basic knowledge of the disease, rehabilitation and health care, and psychosocial health, which varied at different stages of disease. Conclusion Future research on health information needs of breast cancer patients should follow the trend of the times, further improve assessment tools, and explore the changing characteristics of information needs of patients at different stages of disease through longitudinal tracking,so as to construct intervention programs to meet patients’ information needs.

Objective To provide references and basis for the cultivation of nursing undergraduate students’ metacognitive ability in China through a scoping review. Methods Based on the scoping review methodology of Arksey and O’Malley, relevant studies on nursing undergraduate students’ metacognitive ability were searched in databases including Web of Science,PubMed,Scopus,Sinomed,CNKI,and Wanfang Data. The search time limit was set from the date of databases’ establishment to December 2023. The literature was screened according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and data extraction, content summary, and analysis were conducted on the included literature. Results A total of 28 articles were included, including 15 in English and 13 in Chinese. Currently, there were six tools used to measure the metacognitive ability of nursing undergraduate students. Factors that affect their metacognitive ability could be categorized into four types:personal ability, beliefs and ways of thinking, psychological state, and environment. Additionally, eight measures were identified that could help to improve their metacognitive ability. Conclusion There are numerous measurement tools for metacognitive abilities of nursing undergraduates, though their quality varies. The influencing factors are complex and diverse, while the research perspectives are relatively singular. The effectiveness of intervention measures has not yet been fully demonstrated. In the future, nursing educators should further introduce, develop, and evaluate tools for the measure of metacognitive abilities of nursing undergraduates, comprehensively and systematically analyze the causes and mechanisms of their insufficient metacognitive abilities, and actively explore and practice intervention measures aiming to improve the metacognitive abilities of nursing undergraduates.
