    Objective To explore the effects of training based on typical cases for specialty nurses of wound,ostomy and continence. Methods A total of 30 nurses from a wound,ostomy continence school from 2018 to 2020 were selected and assigned to the experimental group. The training method based on typical cases was adopted in this group. Contents of training were developed based on 2 selection principles,6 selection criteria,and 5-step operation methods. Nurses were guided to select typical cases during the practice and carry out holistic care for them. The holistic care included nursing assessment,diagnosis,planning and evidence-based intervention,and evaluation of patient outcomes. Thirty-four nurses from 2015 to 2017 were selected as the control group,and the routine training method was adopted. After 2 weeks of training,the performance of case reports and clinical practice ability were compared between the two groups. Besides,participants were also invited to evaluate the training quality and effects. Results The performance of case report,clinical practice ability,and evaluation of training quality of nurses in the experimental group were better than those in the control group(all P<0.05). Conclusion The typical case-oriented training integrating nursing procedures helps to improve the clinical practice ability of nurses and improve the teaching effects and quality.

    Objective To investigate the effects of objective structured clinical examination(OSCE) on ability of syndrome differ nursing of TCM specialty nurses. Methods The OSCE was carried out in 177 TCM specialty nurses in Chongqing. Results The average score of OSCE difficulty was 0.8 and the average differentiation degree was 0.6. The average examination score of 177 candidates was 81.3±9.7. 96.6% of the nurses and 94.4% of the examiners believed that the OSCE could scientifically evaluate the ability of TCM nurses on syndrome differ nursing. Conclusion OSCE has reasonable difficulty level and good differentiation degree. It can evaluate the syndrome differ ability of TCM specialty nurses effectively.

    Stroke is the leading cause of death among adults in China. The efficient treatment is of great significance to improve the prognosis of patients. The First Affiliated Hospital of Navy Medical University set up stroke emergency nurses to guide stroke patients’ rescue throughout the whole process and such a nurse role setting can greatly improve the rescue efficiency.This paper introduced the stratified training model of stroke emergency nurses at different levels. We believe it can provide reference for the training of stroke emergency nurses in China.

    This paper introduced the practice and experience of establishment of stomatology specialty nurses training base in Shandong Provincial Qianfoshan Hospital. The base was developed by the “4M1E” model(man,machine,material,method,environment) which is used for quality management in business. Contents of the base establishment included trainers and trainees,equipment,material,method,and environment aiming to cultivate the general nurses and specialty nurses. At present,the base has passed the preliminary assessment. However,it failed to pass the second assessment due to insufficient hard facilities. This paper summarizes the experience and reflections during the base establishment to provide reference for other medical institutions to build specialty nurses training bases.

    Objective To evaluate the effects of theory and practice integrated training model on nurses’ evidence-based practice beliefs and implementation. Methods A total of 147 nurses from 51 departments in a medical center were included in the evidence-based practice(EBP) educational program. The EBP educational program was composed of two parts:theory and practice. The theoretical part included evidence-based questioning,evidence retrieval,evidence quality evaluation,evidence transformation,and result evaluation. The practical part included the opening report,mid-term review,and project dissemination. Before and after the training,the Chinese version of the evidence-based practice beliefs and implementation scales were used to assess the level of the nurses. Results The score of evidence-based practice beliefs of nurses increased from(57.13±6.92) to (60.07±6.24) after training,and the score of evidence-based practice implementation increased from(35.85±13.96) to (42.53±13.95) after training(P<0.001). Fifty-one teams successfully carried out 48 EBP projects and 28 projects were guided by the evidence-based practice procedures. Conclusion The theory and practice integrated training model can improve the beliefs and implementation level of clinical nurses’ evidence-based practice,and promote the evidence transformation.

    Development of a training program based on the transition shock model for new nurses in psychiatric hospitals

    Objective To develop a training program based on the transition shock model for new nurses in psychiatric hospitals. Methods Based on transition shock model,the training program was established by literature review and semi-structured interview with 2 nursing managers,6 clinical nursing teachers and 4 new nurses. Two-round Delphi technique was used to consult 25 experts. Results The positive coefficients of two-round experts consultation were 96% and 100%respectively. The authoritative degree coefficient of experts was 0.844,and the Kendall coordination coefficients of the two rounds were 0.299 and 0.376,respectively. The final training program for new nurses in psychiatric hospitals includes four aspects:training objectives,training contents,training methods,and assessment contents and methods. The training contents include 4 first-level indexes,10 second-level indexes and 37 third-level indexes. Conclusion The training programs for new nurses in psychiatric hospitals based on the transition shock model is highly scientific and holistic. The program reflects the characteristics of psychiatric nursing,and provides the basis for training of new nurses in psychiatric hospitals.

    Objective To explore the effects of standardized patients(SP) combined with debriefing in nursing humanities course. Methods A total of 118 higher vocational students in Grade 2019 were recruited and assigned to the interventional group in which SP and debriefing simulation was used. Another 125 higher vocational students in Grade 2018 were assigned to the control group in which traditional teaching method was used. After the course,the theory and practice were compared between the two groups and a questionnaire was used for the students of interventional group. Results The theoretical and practical training scores of students in the interventional group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05). Students in the interventional group were satisfied with the teaching method of SP combined with debriefing,and no one chooses to disagree. Conclusion The use of SP combined with debriefing in nursing humanities course can enhance students’ examination performance and their satisfaction level,which is beneficial to cultivate students’ humanistic quality.

    Objective To explore the effects of online teaching of Surgical Nursing based on deep learning theory. Methods The online teaching was developed by addressing three aspects including knowledge acquisition,ability training,and emotional experience before,during,and after class. The teaching development was based on deep learning theory and use two-round action research method. Students’ performance,deep learning results and teaching satisfaction were evaluated. Results When the first-round action research was completed,some problems emerged:large differences in difficult points understanding before class,few interactions between instructors and students,insufficient participation and learning depth in group cooperative learning,and little reflection of humanistic care and innovative ability in homework. When these problems were addressed in second-round action research,students’ knowledge acquisition and deep learning performance were improved(P<0.05). Besides,students’ recognition of teaching participation,learning resources,and ability cultivation were all improved. Conclusion The online teaching program of Surgical Nursing based on deep learning theory is helpful for students with their knowledge improvement,and deep learning motivation and involvement. The teaching can improve the integrated learning,the reflecting learning,and high-level learning.

    This article described our practice of “teaching in class and discussing in small groups” in the course of Nursing Management. Such a teaching reform changed the single classroom teaching into the combination of classroom teaching and clinical placements. We believed the teaching reform can increase students’ learning enthusiasm and improve the teaching effects.

    Objective To explore the effects of the handbook of wound dressings in the training of pressure ulcer liaison nurses. Methods From December 2016 to April 2018,totally 123 pressure ulcer liaison nurses in a hospital were recruited.The handbook was developed through literature search and expert meeting and it was used for the training of pressure ulcer nurses. The theoretical training was conducted in the form of lectures to explain the characteristics and application scope of wound dressings.Workshops was used to guide the reasonable selection of wound dressings and operation techniques. Before training,after training and one year after training,the knowledge and skills of pressure ulcer nursing were assessed. Results After the training,the scores of theoretical knowledge of nurses(47.05±5.09) were higher than those before training(28.16±6.59) and one year after training(39.26±6.02)(P<0.01). After the training,the qualified rate of skills of nurses(82.1%)was higher than that before training(32.5%)(P<0.01) and one year after training(80.5%)(P=0.744). Conclusion The effect of the handbook of wound dressings in the training of pressure ulcer liaison nurses is good,which is worthy of promotion.

    The development of competency evaluation index system for diabetes liaison nurses

    Objective To establish an evaluation index system for competence of diabetes liaison nurses in China. Methods The evaluation index was preliminary developed based on David McClelland competency model by using literature analysis. Delphi technique was used to consult 18 experts who have expertise in caring of diabetes patients for three rounds to determine the evaluation index system. Results The valid questionnaire rates in three rounds of expert consultation were 100%,88.9%,and 93.8% respectively. The average expert authority coefficients were 0.882,0.880,and 0.880,respectively. The competency evaluation indexes of diabetes liaison nurses contained 3 first-level indexes,10 secondary-level indexes,and 33 tertiary-level indexes. The Kendall’s W coefficient in the third consultation was 0.290(P<0.05). Conclusion The competency evaluation index system we developed is scientific. It can provide objective references for training,assessment and appointment of diabetes liaison nurses.

    Analysis of current situation and influencing factors of decent work perception among pediatric nurses in general hospitals

    Objective To understand the status of decent work perception of pediatric nurses in general hospitals and to explore its influencing factors. Methods A convenience sampling method was used to study 402 pediatric nurses in 8 major hospitals in Quanzhou city,China. A cross-sectional survey was conducted using the General Survey Form,the Decent Work Perception Scale,the Chinese Nurses Stressor Scale,and the Work Family Support Scale. Results The score of Decent Work Perception Scale was(50.94±12.61). The linear regression analysis showed that salary,being a staff or not,being a leader or not,workplace violence,work-related stress,work support,and family support were all the influencing factors of pediatric nurses decent work perception(P<0.05),which accounted for 65.4% of the total variation. Conclusion Pediatric nurses in general hospitals had low perception of decent work. We suggest that hospital managers take tailored measures to address those influencing factors to improve nurses’ perception of decent work.

    Objective To understand frailty prevalence and its influencing factors in patients with Maintenance Hemodialysis(MHD). Methods PubMed,CINAHL,Embase,CNKI,VIP and Wanfang Database were searched from inception to September 2019,aiming to collect studies on the prevalence of frailty and its risk factors in patients with MHD. After two researchers independently conducted literature screening,data extraction and quality evaluation was conducted according to the standards. Using Stata 12.1 and RevMan 5.3 software to carry out the meta-analysis of incidence and influencing factors respectively. Results A total of 9 articles(including 5 600 patients) were eligible for inclu-sion in the review. Meta-analysis revealed that the prevalence of frailty was 50%[95%CI(0.31~0.69),P<0.001]. Age(over 60 years old),gender,smoking history,family monthly income,education level,combined with diabetes,peripheral vascular disease,heart disease,cardiovascular disease,hypertension,depression,serum albumin,malnutrition and hemoglobin dialysis time were the main factors leading to the frailty of patients with MHD. Conclusion The prevalence of frailty in patients with MHD is high and there are many influencing factors. Therefore,it is necessary to prevent frailty in patients with MHD in early clinical stage and carry out comprehensive nursing intervention measures for frailty according to the risk factors of frailty,and improve patients’ quality of life.

    Objective To explore the experience of caring for breast cancer patients in patients’ spouses. Methods Semi-structured interview was conducted in 13 spouses of breast cancer patients. Content analysis was used to analyze the interview data. Results Five themes emerged from the data:helplessness of long-term care(being tired of rushing between the hospital and home,being helpless to care for patients by themselves,being powerless to change the current situation,and being compromised with the reality),difficulty in taking on the care burden(limited confidence in caring,low ability in caring,and little knowledge in caring),role disorders (weakened role in working,strengthened role in caring),lack of social support(low level of social support and little utili-zation),and post-traumatic growth(strengthened imitate relationship,parent-child relationship,and personal growth). Conclusion Spouses who are the special caregiver of breast cancer patients are disturbed by physical,mental,social and other issues at different stages. The health care team should pay more attention to the spouse’s care experience and provide assistances according to their needs to encourage the couples to adapt to life after cancer as soon as possible.

    A survey of self-transcendence level and its correlations with social support and coping style among patients with percutaneous coronary intervention

    Objective To investigate the self-transcendence level and its correlations with social support and coping style among patients with percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI). Methods A total of 121 patients with PCI were recruited from April 2019 to March 2020 by convenience sampling. The patients were investigated with the general information questionnaire,the Self-transcendence Scale(STS),the Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS),and the Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire(MCMQ). Results The score of the STS was(32.92±9.63),the score of the PSSS was(55.91±6.10),and the scores of the three subscales of the MCMQ were(18.95±4.70)for confrontation,(15.73±3.25)for avoidance,and(10.10±3.05)for surrender. The STS was positively correlated with the PSSS(r=0.448)and the confrontation subscale(r=0.468)(P<0.05),while it was negatively correlated with the subscales of avoidance(r=-0.427)and surrender(r=-0.389)(P<0.05). Conclusion The self-transcendence among patients with PCI is at a moderate level and associated with their social support and coping style. We should devote ourselves to improving patients’ perceived social support and guiding patients to adopt positive coping styles to improve patients’ self-transcendence.

    Objective To explore the knowledge,attitude,and practice(KAP)of pulmonary rehabilitation exercise in COPD patients. Methods From December 2019 to June 2020,a total of 540 COPD patients in a tertiary hospital were selected by convenient sampling. A self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate the KAP of pulmonary rehabilitation exercise in COPD patients. Results The patients had a good knowledge of blowing balloons and bicycling and the rates were 88.9% and 86.7% respectively. However,the rates of attitude and behavior were generally low. 45.6% of the patients could persist in carrying out lung rehabilitation exercise. Only 38.9% of the patients had the plans to make lung rehabilitation training. Conclusion There are many deficiencies in the knowledge,attitude and practice of pulmonary rehabilitation exercise in patients with COPD. Clinical medical staff should pay attention to the poor compliance of pulmonary rehabilitation exercise,and strengthen health education for patients to improve compliance.

    Objective To explore the effects of nurse-led management strategy of prevention and control of venous thromboembolism(VTE). Methods The patients who were admitted to our hospital were divided to the experimental group and the control group according to the admission date. Those admitted from January to June 2018 were assigned into the control group,and the conventional VTE management method was implemented. Patients admitted from January to June 2019 were assigned to the experimental group,and the nurse-led VTE prevention and control management strategy including risk assessment,hemorrhage risk assessment,and implementation of prevention strategy were adopted. The incidence of venous thromboembolism,the early diagnosis rate,the average length of stay and the average cost of hospitalization were compared between the two groups. Results After the implementation of nurse-led VTE prevention and control management strategy,the incidence of VTE,the early diagnosis rate,the average length of stay and the average cost of hospitalization were all ameliorated in the experimental group(P<0.001). Conclusion The construction and application of nurse-led VTE prevention and control management strategy can effectively reduce the incidence of VTE in hospitalized patients and improve the VTE specialized care.

    Delirium is a common postoperative complication in children and is associated with many adverse clinical outcomes. Effective assessment is a key step in management of postoperative delirium in children. Therefore,this article focuses on the assessment of postoperative delirium in children. We aimed to help medical staff understand postoperative delirium and to provide references for standardized clinical practice and further researches.
