    In 2019,the Ministry of Education deployed and launched the “Double Ten Thousand Plan” for first-class specialties construction. The key points of the work also mentioned that we should strengthen the first-class nursing specialty and cultivate the first-class nursing undergraduate talents. This article interpreted the problems that need to be paid attention to in the construction of first-class nursing specialty,according to the guiding ideology of national first-class specialty construction and centering on the National Standards of Nursing Teaching Quality,so as to point out the direction for improving the teaching quality of nursing specialty and promoting the specialty construction.

    As one of the national first-class undergraduate specialty construction sites,School of Nursing of Sun Yat-Sen University focused on the talent training system of “one through”“two entire”“three early”“four combined”“five integrated” and has made some explorations and practices in the combination of discipline development and undergraduate specialty construction to promote the first-class undergraduate specialty construction. The specific measures included:strengthening moral education and cultivating students by full coverage of course ideological and political education,training excellent undergraduate nursing talents with first-class teachers,paying attention to the mutual transformation and integration of teaching,scientific research and social service,constructing interdisciplinary undergraduate courses system,promoting the convergence and integration of undergraduate and graduate students cultivation,and attaching importance to the education internationalization and the cultivation of students’ comprehensive quality.

    For a comprehensive revitalization of nursing undergraduate education and improve the ability of training,Tianjin Medical University School of Nursing actively explored nursing undergraduate education. In 2019,the school was approved to be one of the national first-class undergraduate specialty construction settings. This paper showed the Tianjin Medical University School of Nursing construction idea and principle in the process of construction,the construction of teachers team,training scheme reform and curriculum construction. Key points were proposed. Besides,the focus and main direction for future construction was also mentioned.

    This paper shared the practice and experience of nursing specialty construction in Dalian University which is selected as the first team to build a national first-class specialty for undergraduates. The nursing professional team adhered to the principles of “student-centered,output oriented and continuous improvement”. Under the objectives’ guidance,the team deepened the teaching reform,improved students’ quality,and had multiple valuable achievements by implementing discipline system,teaching system,ideological and political system,and support system. During this process,the team made good use of the advantages of a comprehensive university and held the philosophy of “cultivating students with high responsibility and healthy growth of students”. All these can provide references for the construction of undergraduate nursing specialty in China.

    It is the guarantee of the cultivating first-class talents and the foundation of strengthening first-class undergraduate education to construct the first-class major. This article will take the nursing major of Nanjing Medical University as an example to mainly introduce the measures and results of the first-class major construction including curriculum system construction,teaching mode reform,practical teaching system construction,teaching staff construction and teaching management. Then we put forward the direction of continuous improvement in order to provide reference for the construction of related majors.

    Objective To explore the effects of the flipped classroom in the course of Adult Nursing. Methods The contents of five diseases in Adult Nursing were chosen for the flipped classroom. The flipped classroom was developed in design,preparation,implementation,and evaluation. The flipped classroom was applied in 44 undergraduates and the effects were evaluated by comprehensive examinations,nursing specialty self-regulated learning scale,and the students’ perceptions of online flipped classroom questionnaire. Results The average score of the comprehensive examinations was 7.07±0.84,the average online learning time was 2.27~17.71 hours,and the average score of flipped-class cases was 91.78±2.36.After the teaching,the students’ total scores of self-regulated learning ability,the scores of the ability of study self-management dimension and study cooperation dimension were significantly higher than those before the teaching(P<0.05). The class satisfaction was 3.89±0.58. Conclusion It is feasible to use flipped classroom teaching. The flipped classroom helps improve the students’ self-regulated learning ability,and is accepted by most students.

    Objective To explore the methods and effects of experiential life and death education. Methods Life and death education courses were elective courses with a total class hour of 32, 2 hours per week for 16 weeks,including 7 topics:overview of life and death education,biological processes of life and death,philosophical significance of life and death,fear of death and death anxiety,death and culture,issues related to bioethics(euthanasia,hospice care,organ transplantation,suicide,etc.),search meaning in life. Death Attitude Profile-Revised(DAP-R) was used to evaluate 73 students’ death attitudes before and after the course. Results Compared with the results measured before life and death education,the average scores of Fear of Death and Escape Acceptance were decreased significantly(Z=3.35,P=0.001;Z=2.15,P=0.032). There was no significant difference in scores of Death Avoidance,Natural Acceptance,and Approach Acceptance(P>0.05). Conclusion The experiential life and death education can help college students alleviate their fear of death and develop attitudes towards death objectively.

    Objective To explore the application effect of on-site + live broadcast teaching pattern in Anatomy experiment teaching of nursing specialty in higher vocational colleges. Methods Four first year classes were randomly selected,which were from a university’s higher vocational nursing classes. Two of the classes with totally 85 students were divided into 4 batches and they were in the experimental group in which the on-site + live broadcast teaching pattern was adopted and the live video duration was(29.9±1.3) minutes;the other two classes with a total of 86 students were in the control group in which the teaching in group by demonstration teaching pattern was used. The teaching effect was evaluated by comparing the two groups’ classroom experimental test scores,experimental test scores in two weeks after the class and the comments of the experimental group about the teaching pattern. Results Both the classroom experimental test scores and the experimental test scores two weeks after the class of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group(t=4.262,9.177,P<0.001). The experimental group held these opinions:the teaching pattern was novel(84/85);the teaching effect was good(81/85);it was convenient to use the teaching pattern(84/85);they were able to see the small structure(74/85);they would review the live video after the class(81/85);they were willing to accept the on-site and live broadcast teaching pattern(82/85). Conclusion In the course of anatomy experiment teaching of nursing specialty in higher vocational colleges,the on-site + live broadcast teaching pattern can display the small structure and it is convenient for the students to observe the experiment in class and to review it at any time after class,which can effectively improve the experimental teaching effect of orthopedics.

    Objective To develop and evaluate the reliability and validity of the Undergraduate Nursing Classroom Teaching Quality Scale. Methods Based on Kano model,the initial scale was designed through literature review. The items of the scale were revised and finalized through experts consultation and pilot investigation. By using convenient sampling,238 freshmen and sophomores in a university were selected in December 2019 to evaluate the construct validity and internal consistency of the Undergraduate Nursing Classroom Teaching Quality Scale.An expert panel(n=11) was used to evaluate the content validity of the scale. Results The Undergraduate Nursing Classroom Teaching Quality Scale had 16 items including 4 dimensions of teacher quality,pre-class design,classroom vitality,and after-class reflection. The S-CVI of the total scale was 0.954,and I-CVI of each item was from 0.818 to 1.The exploratory factor score extracted 4 common factors and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 65.487%. By confirmatory factor analysis,the scale had good fitness with χ 2/df=2.536,RMSEA(0.080),CFI(0.974),NFI(0.959),RFI(0.943),IFI(0.974),TLI(0.965). The Cronbach’s α coefficient was 0.892,and Cronbach’s α coefficient of each dimension was 0.886~0.974. Conclusion The Undergraduate Nursing Classroom Teaching Quality Scale has a good reliability and validity,and it can be used as a tool to evaluate the undergraduate nursing classroom teaching quality.

    Objective To understand the experiences of thesis practice in a local college. Methods A semi-structured in-depth interview was conducted among nursing students and instructors of grade 2016 in a local college by purposive sampling. Qualitative analysis method was used to sort out,analyze,summarize and refine the topics of the interview data. Results Four themes emerged from the data including bipolar emotional experience,maladjustment to stress,insufficient scientific research knowledge,and the key function of supervisors. Conclusion We should pay attention to the emotional experience and needs of nursing students in the local college during thesis practice,cultivate students’ comprehensive ability,enhance their ability to adapt to and cope with stress,make more focus on research-related courses,help students to build a solid scientific research knowledge system,and pay attention to the key role of instructors.

    The attitude towards death of nursing undergraduates in Gansu province

    Objective To investigate the attitude towards death of nursing undergraduates in Gansu province. Methods A total of 406 nursing undergraduates from three nursing schools were investigated by Chinese version of Death Attitude Profile-Revised from September to December 2019. Results The scores of nursing undergraduates were(4.50±0.35) for death escape dimension,(3.17±0.71)for death fear,(3.16±0.66) for approaching acceptance,(2.67±0.58)for escape acceptance, and(2.24±0.70) for natural acceptance. There were differences in the attitude towards death among nursing undergraduates with different genders,birthplaces,whether families talked about death,and whether they had exposed to death(P<0.05). Conclusion Nursing undergraduates in Gansu province generally have a negative attitude and escape death. It is suggested that nursing colleges should pay attention to death education based on students’ characteristics to develop death curriculum and to guide students establishing a scientific and positive death attitude.

    A survey of the clinical operational skill of higher vocational nursing students

    Objective To understand the current situation of the clinical operational skill of higher vocational nursing students. Methods One hundred and eighty-six higher vocational nursing students from 6 hospitals were recruited and their clinical operational skill was evaluated by direct observation from their clinical mentors. Results The total score of students’ operational skills was 7.21±1.29. The items with the lowest score were patients assessment(6.97±1.53) and skills(6.98±1.48). Conclusion The clinical operational skill of higher vocational nursing students is at a high level,but the skill proficiency and accuracy should be strengthened. Besides,the cultivation of assessment ability,data analysis ability and problem solving ability should be paid attention to.

    The systematic review of the effects of mixed teaching based on small private online course(SPOC) in nursing education

    Objective To explore the effects of mixed teaching based on small private online course(SPOC) in nursing education. Methods The CNKI,VIP,Wanfang,CBM,PubMed,Web of Science,Cochrane Library and Embase were comprehensively conducted to find randomized controlled trials of using SPOC mixed teaching in nursing education. Meta-analysis was conducted after literature screening,data extraction and quality assessment. Results A total of 13 papers were included,including 3 072 students. The results showed that SPOC mixed teaching can improve theoretical knowledge scores[SMD=0.70,95%CI(0.56,0.84),Z=9.80,P<0.001],autonomous learning ability[SMD=0.58,95%CI(0.47,0.69),Z=10.00,P<0.001],learning cooperation ability[MD=2.52,95%CI(1.80,3.24),Z=6.87,P<0.001],learning motivation[MD=1.48,95%CI(0.93,2.04),Z=5.25,P<0.001]and satisfaction[RR=1.31,95%CI(1.10,1.57),Z=2.94,P=0.003],all the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Using SPOC mixed teaching in nursing education can improve theoretical knowledge scores,autonomous learning ability,learning cooperation ability,learning motivation and satisfaction of students. However,there are still little related research literature for college students,and its application effects need to be further explored.

    Objective To explore the effects of an adversity quotient training program for new nurses. Methods The adversity quotient training program was developed and included in the training of new nurses in 2018. Contents of the training included theoretical knowledge of adversity quotient,case sharing of nursing adversity situation and coping methods,assessment of adversity scenario simulation training and real case sharing between new nurses and experienced nurses in clinical work departments,etc. Before and after the training,the new nurses were investigated with the Nurse Adversity Consultation Scale. The number of compliments and complaints were evaluated between the nurses in 2018 and 2017. Results After the training,the new nurses’ adversity quotient level was significantly improved compared with that before the training(P<0.05). In 2018,new nurses received less praise and complaints than new nurses in 2017. Conclusion The adversity quotient training program is helpful to improve the level of new nurses’ adversity quotient.

    Objective To summarize and evaluate the best evidence of management of nutrition in stroke patients. Methods We searched evidence in UpToDate,BMJ best practice,the Cochrane Library,Scottish Inter-collegiate Guidelines Network,China Biology Medicine disc,and Wanfang database from their inception to May 1,2020. The quality assessment was conducted by two researchers by using AGREE Ⅱ for guidelines,JBI evidence-based health care center evaluate standards for systematic review,and expert consensus. Results A total of 16 articles were included in this study,including 12 guidelines,3 systematic reviews and 1 expert consensus. Thirty-three pieces of the best evidence were extracted including the nutrition screening and assessment as well as the time and method of nutrition support. Conclusion This study summarized the best evidence of the nutrition support of stroke patients. As evidences are from different countries,we suggest to assess the clinical environment and other related factors before evidence application to promote nursing quality.

    Objective To investigate the correlation between positive aspects and care ability of family caregivers of children with enterostomy. Methods By convenience sampling method,a total of 110 family caregivers of children with enterostomy were involved in the study. The general information questionnaire,Positive Aspects of Caregiving Scale and Nursing Ability Scale were used for the survey. Results The total scores of positive aspects and caring ability of the caregivers of enterostomy children were(28.34±4.94)and(116.86±11.10),respectively. There was a significant positive correlation between the two factors(r=0.628,P<0.01). Conclusion The positive aspect and care ability of the family caregivers of children with enterostomy were at the medium level. The positive aspects are closely related to the care ability. The nurses should focus on the caregivers’ feelings,increase the caregivers’ ability,and improve the quality of life of children.

    The scope and standards of specialty nursing practice are the standards of implementation of specialty nursing and they are also the key contents of nursing researches in various countries. In 2010,the American Wound,Ostomy and Continence Nursing Society(WOCNS)developed the first edition of scope and standards of wound,ostomy and continence nursing practice. In 2018,the WOCNS updated its second edition. This paper mainly interpreted three parts of the second edition including the scope of practice,practice standards and professional practice standards. We aimed to provide references for training and use of wound,ostomy and continence specialty nurses in China.
