Methods Based on literature review, personal interviews and expert consultation, the course was constructed and was considered a professional elective course, with a total of 38 class hours, including 22 theoretical class hours and 16 practical class hours. Nursing graduate students enrolled in 2022 were taught in small class sizes. Course effectiveness evaluation was carried out through student assessment results, students’ overall evaluation of the course, and interviews. Results The student’s course mean score was(83.17±5.65). The diagnostic evaluation score was(8.71±0.53). In the formative evaluation, the score of seminar combined case teaching and PBL teaching was(17.44±0.81),the score of guided teaching(17.29±0.87),the score of clinical investigation was(8.21±0.56),the summative evaluation score was(31.53±4.67),and the evaluation score conferred upon the course by the students was(92.58±1.93). In terms of the interviews, four predominant themes emerged, namely "cultivating analytical and problem-solving skills","improving vocational skills","changing the way of thinking" and "improving management and decision-making skills".
