Abstract:

Objective To apply the reflective reminder cards in the situational simulation training of nursing undergraduates, and to understand their learning experience. Methods The reflective reminder cards were translated and revised, and then applied to the situational simulation teaching of Introduction to Nursing. The students’ learning experience, gains and suggestions were analyzed through their reflective diaries and after-class interviews. Results A total of 164 valid reflective diaries were obtained, and seven students who completed their diaries and eight students who did not completed their diaries were selected to interviewed. Students believed that the use of reflective reminder cards in situational simulation teaching could promote the integration of theory with practice and knowledge transformation, reflect on personal ability from situational simulation, establish nursing professional identity, and expect continuous improvement of the course. Conclusion The application of reflective reminder cards in the situational simulation training of nursing undergraduates can help students transform, consolidate and internalize knowledge, and the students have a better experience, which can provide new ideas and methods for teachers to improve the situational simulation teaching.
