Methods We searched databases including PubMed,Embase,Cochrane Library,CINAHL,Web of Science,CNKI,WanFang database,VIP and CBM from the establishment of the databases to January 2024,to collect qualitative studies on the experience of nursing staffs in narrative nursing. The JBI critical appraisal tool for qualitative studies was used to evaluate the quality of the included research, and the meta aggregation was used to conduct the synthesis. Results A total of 10 studies were included, and 45 results were extracted and summarized into 10 categories, which were synthesized into 3 integrated results:nursing staff benefit from participating in narrative nursing, challenges and obstacles of nursing staff to participate in narrative nursing, unmet diversity needs of nursing staff engaged in narrative nursing. Conclusion Nursing managers should have an in-depth understanding of the real experience of nursing staff participating in narrative nursing, build a narrative nursing training and evaluation system in line with China’s national conditions, train and manage nursing staff according to the actual situation, increasing self-efficacy of nursing staff to engage in narrative nursing, and improve the narrative nursing support system,so as to contribute to the comprehensive and effective implementation of narrative nursing practice.
