Abstract:

Objective To translate the Therapeutic Relationship Assessment Scale-Nurse(TRAS-N) and test its reliability and validity among mental health nurses. Methods According to the Brislin translation model, the Portuguese and English versions of the scale were translated and back translated. A preliminary experiment was conducted to test the Chinese version of the scale. A total of 10 psychiatric experts were invited to evaluate the content validity of the scale. A survey was conducted on 360 clinical nurses from two mental health centers in Qingdao and Rizhao for reliability and validity analysis. Results The CR values of each item in the Chinese version of the scale ranged from 6.313 to 17.359,the correlation coefficient range from 0.429 to 0.766,the I-CVI was 0.800~1.000,and the S-CVI was 0.942. Structural equation model fitting index was as following: χ2/df=2.297,RMSEA=0.074,IFI=0.914,TLI=0.903,CFI=0.913,RMR=0.041. The convergence validity of the scale was 0.348,while Cronbach’s α coefficient was 0.940 and the retest reliability was 0.884. Conclusion The Chinese version of Therapeutic Relationship Assessment Scale-Nurse has good reliability and validity, and can be used to evaluate the current status of therapeutic relationship among mental health nurses in China.
