    The study on cultivating scientific research ability of undergraduate nursing students

    Objective To explore the effects of cultivating the scientific research innovation ability of nursing undergraduates based on the concept of “integration-coordination-innovation”. Methods To promote the cultivation of scientific research innovation ability of nursing undergraduates,measures included establishing interdisciplinary collaborative teaching platform,creating innovative entrepreneurship incubation,nursing research methods and scientific research innovation promotion series of courses,establishing scientific research and innovative education tutorial system and the development of four-stage innovative education practice activities,and focusing on nursing students scientific research innovation ability of the key breakthrough. Results From 2018 to 2020,22 national level scientific projects,46 school level scientific projects were obtained,more than 20 academic papers were published,and one patents granted. Conclusion The cultivation of undergraduate scientific research innovation ability based on “integration-coordination-innovation” is beneficial to the development of students’ innovative scientific research ability and self-development ability. It is beneficial to improve the quality of nursing personnel training in an all-round way.

    A prospective study on the learning curve of basic operation skills of Leonardo da Vincirobot surgery system

    Objective To explore the minimum operations needed by nurses in operating room to master the basic skills of Leonardo da Vincirobot surgery system,and to provide reference for the establishment of Leonardo da Vincirobot surgery system cooperation qualification admission standards and skill training. Methods Nurses who independently cooperated with Leonardo da Vincirobot surgery system operation were eligible for the study. Four evaluation indexes,including the arm cover device time,the parameter setting time,the man-machine docking times and the postoperative system processing time were recorded. The cumulative sum value was calculated to draw the individual learning curve,and the overall learning curve was obtained by fitting. Results Ten nurses assisted with a total of 150 operations. The slope of individual learning curve began to decrease in 3 to 14 cases. The overall learning curve began to decrease in case 9. Conclusion Through cumulative sum analysis,the learning curve of basic operation skills of Leonardo da Vincirobot surgery system can be divided into two stages:learning and exploration stage and proficiency stage,and at least 9 cases of surgical experience should be accumulated to reach proficiency stage.

    Objective To explore the integration method and the effects of a clinical cultivation programme for maters of nursing specialist(MNS). Methods From May 2019 to November 2020,twenty MNS were divided into the A and the B groups based on whether they had clinical working experience more than 3 years. In group A,the training programme for new nurses were integrated in the current cultivation programme. In group B,the training programme for specialty nurses were integrated in the current cultivation programme. After the training,theoretical examination,skill assessment and satisfaction level of graduates in the two groups were assessed. Results All 20 MNS completed the training and passed the assessments. The theory assessment score was 89.56±4.37 and the skill assessment score was 84.39±5.76 in group A. The theory assessment score was 87.98±6.67 and the skill assessment score was 87.78±5.98 in group B. The average scores of satisfaction survey ranged from 3.67 to 3.86 with good overall satisfaction. Conclusion It is feasible to integrate the MNS postgraduate training with the training programs of new nurses and specialty nurses,but the integration process needs to be further improved.

    Objective To explore the effects of a modified mindful self-compassion(MSC) training program on self-compassion among master of nursing specialist. Methods In October 2018,the convenient sampling method was used to recruit 66 master of nursing specialist of grade 2018 from a university in Shanxi Province. These students were randomly divided into 7 groups,with 9 to 10 students in each group. This study used Nursing Behavior Psychology course as the teaching platform,and the teaching content was set and implemented according to the modified MSC training program. The MSC training was taught for 8 weeks for 9 times,with 2 to 2.5h each time. The modified MSC mainly adopted the combination of theory with practice,indoor and outdoor method. The concrete contents included “learning and discovering mindful self-compassion”“practicing mindfulness”“practicing meditation”“finding your compassionate voice”“grasping mindfulness”“finding your worth”“managing negtive emotions”“transforming relationships” and “embracing your life” as well as a variety of meditations and informal practices for use in daily life. Before and after the training,the Chinese Version of Self-Compassion Scale was used to investigate students’ self-compassion. Results The total score of self-compassion was(84.11±4.23) before intervention and(95.67±3.61) after intervention. The total score of self-compassion and the mean score of all dimensions after intervention were higher than those before intervention(P<0.05). Conclusion The self-compassion ability of master of nursing specialist is at an intermediate level. The modified MSC training program can improve the self-compassion ability of master of nursing specialist.

    Construction of admission and competency evaluation index system for mentors of master of nursing specialist

    Objective To construct the admission and competency evaluation index system for mentors of master of nursing specialist(MNS). Methods By literature and theories reviewing and expert opinions,a preliminary competency index system for mentors of MNS was constructed. Delphi Technique was used to filter indicators,and 26 experts in the field of nursing education,nursing management,and clinical nursing were included. A total of 2 rounds of expert letter consultations were conducted. Analytic hierarchy process was applied to determine the weight of indicators. Results The efficiency of two rounds of inquiry papers was 85.7% and 86.7%,respectively. The Kendall’s W coordination coefficients of two rounds of expert consultation were 0.254 and 0.238(P<0.001),respectively. The authority coefficient was 0.93. Finally,5 admission indicators for mentors of MNS were constructed. The final competency evaluation index system for mentors of MNS included 4 first-level indicators,9 second-level indicators,and 41 third-level indicators. Conclusion The competency evaluation index system for mentors of MNS is highly scientific and reliable. It can provide an objective reference for nursing colleges to select,train,assess and evaluate mentors for MNS in the future.

    The clinical teaching preference of master of nursing specialist based on discrete choice experiment

    Objective To explore the preference of master of nursing specialist to clinical teaching through discrete selection experiment,including clinical teaching instructors and clinical practice programs. Methods The attributes and level of preference for clinical teaching were determined through literature review,interviews and expert consultations and a questionnaire was also developed. A total of 281 master of nursing specialists in China were surveyed by the questionnaire,and the conditional Logit model was used for data analysis. Results All the 6 clinical teaching attributes(educational background of instructors,working experience of instructors,teaching method,teaching style,literature discussion,and the learning form of supplementary knowledge)could have impacts on students’ preference for clinical teaching(P<0.05). The most ideal teaching is to study with a instructor who has more than 10 years of working experience and at least a master’s degree. Besides,one-to-one guidance,literature discussion once every two weeks,and increasing the clinical knowledge by nursing rounds were all preferred by students. Conclusion The discrete choice experiment showed that the master of nursing specialists hope to be taught by teachers with a high degree. They also expect instructors pay more attention to the cultivation of scientific research ability. When a teaching plan is developed,it is necessary to consider students’ working experience and the conditions of the teaching hospital. The preferences of students should be taken into consideration as far as possible to improve the quality of teaching.

    Effect comparisons of the blended teaching and the online teaching in Midwifery course

    Objective To compare the effects of the blended teaching and the online teaching in Midwifery course. Methods Twenty-five students enrolled in 2016 in Tianjin Medical University were taught by the blended teaching method including 19h of online teaching and 46h of offline teaching. Another 25 students recruited in 2017 were taught by the online teaching method with a total of 65h. We collected the students’ online learning data through the platform. The ratio of video teaching time and video actual time,interaction score of each class,task completion score,number of visits per class,average online test score and final exam score were all compared between the two groups with different teaching method. Results There was no statistically significant differences in the task completion score and number of visits per class between the two grades(P>0.05). The ratio of video teaching time and video actual time of students enrolled in 2017 was lower than that of the students in grade 2016(t=3.435,P<0.05). The interaction score of each class and online tests of the students of grade 2017 were higher than those of the students of grade 2016(P<0.05). The final exam score of students in grade 2017 were lower than that of the students in grade 2016(t=2.591,P<0.05). After multiple linear regression analysis,the interaction score and the number of visits per class were the influencing factors of the online course test score,accounting for 65.4% of the total variation. Conclusion The blended teaching can combine the advantages of online and offline. Teachers can provide students with diversified learning services to improve students’ initiative and participation in learning. The blended teaching can improve the efficiency of online learning. Besides,the quality of teaching is improved through strategies such as questioning and discussion in offline courses,which is more conducive to know the overall learning effects of students.

    Objective To explore the main facilitators of interprofessional education(IPE)from the perspectives of nursing teachers under the guidance of cooperative game theory. Methods Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 6 nursing educators. The interview mainly included the value and significance of IPE,facilitators and barriers in the implementation of IPE. Content analysis was used to analyze the data and extract the theme. Results According to the four basic areas of cooperative game theory,a total of 10 IPE facilitating factors were extracted. ①Common goals:cultivating students’ comprehensive ability,improving the quality of nursing and promoting the construction of medical environment.②Information sharing:the integration and application of information,the effective communication and conflict resolution between team members.③Equality and mutual benefits:the equality and mutual benefits among different groups and comprehensive development of the teaching team. ④Compulsory contract:the support from management and the establishment of the organizational structure for IPE. Conclusion The four facilitators are needed to promote the standardization and continuous improvement and development of IPE.

    The postgraduate course of Nursing Management in School of Nursing,Sun Yat-sen University was selected as one of the 10 excellent courses for medical and pharmaceutical postgraduates in 2018. This paper introduced the basis and design of curriculum construction from the aspects of curriculum objectives,teaching philosophy,teaching team,learning situation analysis and teaching contents. It highlighted the characteristics of the course teaching,such as vigorously promoting course ideological and political education,flexibly applying teaching methods,elaborately setting up the management situation,and making full use of technical means. According to the results of students’ teaching evaluation,this paper put forward the improvement strategies of strengthening learning effects,refining formative evaluation and optimizing learning mode.

    This article analyzed the standards,test items and evaluation methods of Health and Social Care Project in the World Skills Competition,and pointed out the problems in our country’s higher vocational nursing education. The following suggestions were proposed including increasing the breadth and depth of nursing knowledge and skills for higher vocational nursing students,integrating the standardized patients in nursing education,broadening the practical field of nursing students,and improving the comprehensive quality of vocational nursing teachers. We hope to provide reference for the training of high-skilled nursing talents in our country.

    Examination is an important part of education evaluation. It is an important step to strengthen the teaching management process, enhance the curriculum system, promote students’ study, and improve teaching quality. Based on the theory of education statistics and surveying,the paper listed the common problems in setting questions of an examination and examination paper analysis, discussed the main points of setting questions of an examination, and the detailed ways to evaluate the quality of examination paper comprehensively. Teachers should improve the teaching strategies in response to the problems reflected in the examination evaluation, and further improve the quality of setting questions of an examination according to the various indicators of the test paper analysis.

    The reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the Transition Shock Scale for Undergraduate Nursing Students

    Objective To translate the Transition Shock Scale for Undergraduate Nursing Students and test its reliability and validity. Methods After obtaining the authorization from the original authors,the original scale was translated and back-translated according to the Brislin model,and the items were further revised after cultural adjustment and pretesting to form the Chinese version of the scale. Eight experts were invited to conduct content validity evaluation. Two hundred and fourteen undergraduate nursing students were selected for the questionnaire survey to test the reliability and validity of the scale. Results The Chinese version of the scale included 18 items,and 5 common factors were extracted by exploratory factor analysis. The cumulative variance contribution rate was 71.134%,2 dimensions were in 1 common factor,the rest of the structure is consistent with the original scale. After discussion,the original 6 dimensions were maintained in this study. The Cronbach’s α coefficient of the scale was 0.912,and the scale-level content validity index was 0.987. Conclusion The Chinese version of the Transition Shock Scale for Undergraduate Nursing Students has good validity and reliability which can be used to evaluate the transition shock level of undergraduate nursing students in China.

    Objective To understand the knowledge,attitude and behavior related to narrative nursing of new nurses. Methods A total of 347 new nurses were recruited from a third-level first-class hospital in Dalian from July 2016 to August 2020 by convenience sampling. The narrative nursing Knowledge,Attitude and Behavior questionnaire was used to conduct the survey. Results There were 169 nurses(48.7%)who had never heard of or studied narrative nursing or narrative medicine,while only 6 nurses(1.7%) had systematically studied narrative nursing or narrative medicine. The total knowledge,attitude,and behavior score of new nurses was 53~96(69.09±8.39). The score of behavioral dimension was ranked lowest with the mean item score of(2.49±0.74). The three items with the lowest score were all in the behavioral dimension. Conclusion The knowledge,attitude and behavior related to narrative nursing need to be improved,especially in the practice of narrative nursing.

    Objective To search,evaluate and integrate the best evidence of oxygen therapy management in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD),so as to provide basis for formulating the management standard of patients’ oxygen therapy. Methods The databases were searched including UpToDate,PubMed,Cochrane Library,National Institute for Health and Care Excellence,Guidelines International Network,Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease,Irish Thoracic Association,Australian Lung Foundation,European Respiratory Association,Chinese Nursing Society,Wanfang Database,CNKI,et al. We used AGREE Ⅱ and JBI evidence-based health care center’s document quality evaluation standard and evidence recommendation system(2016 version) to evaluate the quality of various studies and the level of evidence recommendation.The evidence was extracted,summarized and analyzed. Results A total of 14 articles were included,including 10 guidelines,2 evidence summaries,1 systematic review and 1 industy standard. Finally,23 best evidences were summarized including oxygen therapy evaluation,oxygen therapy methods,oxygen flow and duration of oxygen therapy,long-term oxygen therapy,health education and discharge follow-up. Conclusion This study summarizes the best evidence of oxygen therapy for COPD,which can provide a scientific basis for nurses to manage oxygen therapy for patients with COPD. Since the evidence summarized in this study comes from many countries,the personnel also need to continuously update the evidence to improve the hospital safety management by applying the best evidence.

    Objective To develop a questionnaire for measuring implementation intention of self-care in patients with enterostomy and to test its reliability and validity. Methods Based on the theory of implementation intention and the two specific forms of action planning and coping planning,the first draft of the questionnaire was formed by inviting 25 experts for two rounds of expert consultation and literature analysis. A total of 265 permanent enterostomy patients from a tertiary hospital in Qingdao were selected by convenience sampling to investigate the draft questionnaire. Seven experts were invited to conduct content validity evaluation. The critical ratio method,the correlation coefficient between items and total scores,and the homogeneity test were used to analyze the questionnaire items. The reliability and validity of the questionnaire were tested by exploratory factor analysis,content validity,Cronbach’s alpha coefficient,and test-retest reliability. Results For the first-round expert consultation,27 e-mails were sent out and 27 responses were received. In the second round,27 emails were sent out and 25 were recovered. The range of coefficient of variation of the 2 rounds was 0.066~0.357 and 0.040~0.199,respectively. The 2 rounds of expert coordination were 0.306 and 0.505 respectively(all P<0.05).The questionnaire consisted of 2 dimensions and 24 items. Four principal factors were extracted by exploratory factor analysis,and the contribution rate of the cumulative variance was 74.309%. The total Cronbach’s α coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.961,the test-retest reliability was 0.877,and the content index of questionnaire was 0.976. Conclusion The questionnaire has good reliability and validity. It can be used to measure the situation of self-care behavior implementation intention of enterostomy patients.

    Risk factors of peristomal moisture-associated skin damage in patients with stoma

    Objective To analyze the risk factors of peristomal moisture-associated skin damage(PMASD) in patients with stoma during the first three months after surgery. Methods The prospective study design was adopted and participants were selected by convenience sampling. A total of 329 patients from 4 hospitals in Shanghai were enrolled from November 2019 to September 2020. A self-made questionnaire for assessment of PMASD was used in this study. Results The incidence of PMASD was 42.8%(141/329). Logistic regression analysis showed that gender(OR=0.527,P=0.029),height of stoma opening(OR=0.323,P<0.001),surgical wound in plate area(OR=3.143,P=0.004),type of stoma(OR=4.109,P<0.001),times(>3) of leakage(OR=2.679,P=0.009),soft diet(OR=2.854,P=0.003),and semi-fluid diet(OR=2.977,P<0.001) were independent influencing factors of PMASD. Conclusion PMASD is a common complication within 3 months after surgery. It is suggested to provide guidance on the observation of the height of stoma opening,selection of stoma care products,use of special dressing,timing and method of dietary transition to reduce the risk of complications for patients.

    This article summarizes the definition of the interprofessional shared decision-making model(IP-SDM),the three levels that affect the medical environment,macro,meso,micro levels,and the application of IP-SDM in nursing decision-making practice. This paper suggests that nursing scholars in our country can consider enriching the contents and forms of nursing core courses and building a cross-professional team led by specialist nurses based on the IP-SDM.

    Effective health education can reduce delayed treatment for stroke patients. Based on literature review,this article introduced subjects,contents,methods,start time and duration,education providers and quality evaluation of health education related to reducing delay of treatment behavior in stroke patients. The article suggested that the scope of the education objects should be enlarged,educational methods should be diversified,the evaluation should be multidimensional,and the follow-up period should be prolonged. By these ways,we can reduce delay of treatment behavior in stroke patients.

    Taking the Centre for Interprofessional Education and Learning of the University of Nottingham as an example,this paper introduces the general situation of interprofessional education in the University of Nottingham,including the introduction of the Center for Interprofessional Education and Learning,the curriculum and Case sharing in class.At the same time,according to the national conditions of our country,some suggestions are proposed to provide references for the establishment and development of interprofessional nursing education in China.
