Design and practice of Integrating Ideological and Political Education into the Nurse Humanistic Cultivation course

Abstract:

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of the Integrating Ideological and Political Education into the Nurse Humanistic Cultivation course. Methods A total of 626 nursing undergraduates were enrolled,with the 2022 cohort(n=306) serving as the control group (traditional teaching) and the 2023 cohort(n=320) as the experimental group(“immersion-experience-reflection-practice” strategy). Teaching outcomes were assessed through theoretical knowledge,practical performance,and value identity. Results The experimental group achieved significantly higher total course scores[84.0(81.0,86.0) vs. 83.0(80.0,85.5),P<0.05],theoretical scores[85.0(82.0,86.0) vs. 83.0(80.0,86.0),P<0.05],and practical performance scores[84.0(81.0,86.0) vs. 82.0(80.0,86.0),P<0.05] compared to the control group. The excellence-good rate of practice projects was 91.8%. Survey results showed that 90.3% of students found the integration of ideological elements was naturally integrated with professional knowledge,92.5% of students gave positive feedback on situational simulation teaching,and 89.6% of students considered project practice most helpful to their personal development. Conclusion The implementation of ideological-political education based on the “immersion-experience-reflection-practice” strategy effectively promotes the internalization and practice of humanistic qualities and value identity among nursing students,offering a referable model for ideological and political education in nursing humanities courses.
