Empowering nursing intervention in the health management of stroke patients:a scoping review

Abstract:

Objective To review the studies related to empowering nursing intervention in health management of stroke patients,and summarize the intervention programs to promote the health management of stroke patients,so as to provide references for clinical practice and future research in this field. Methods According to scoping review method,related studies in CNKI, Wanfang, SinoMed, PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Scopus, ProQuest were searched. The time limit for retrieval was from the establishment of the database to January 2023. An integration analysis of the included literature was performed. Results Totally,23 studies were included,the intervention form was mainly one-to-one or group intervention online and offline. The intervention elements included four topics:nurse-patient decision-making,provision of information and skill guidance,psychological support,and peer support. The outcome measures were mainly about the patients’ living activities and self-care ability,and self-efficacy. Conclusion Empowering nursing intervention has positive effects on the health management for stroke patients. Future studies should extend the application of empowering nursing intervention,enrich the content and intervention form,formulate standardized evaluation criteria,and actively set up multidisciplinary teams according to the intervention content to explore the best empowering nursing intervention program for the health management of stroke patients.
