Exploration and research on “1+X” postpartum recovery certificate integrated teaching mode for midwifery specialty in higher vocational colleges

Abstract:

Objective To develop a teaching plan for the “1+X” postpartum recovery of course certificate integration,and to explore its role in improving students’ pass rate in certificate assessment,so as to provide reference for the implementation of course certificate integration teaching reform in vocational colleges. Methods We analyzed the assessment items and core points of the “1+X” postpartum recovery(intermediate level) certificate,integrated them into the teaching content of 11 related courses,and added a “1+X” postpartum recovery course(limited to elective courses),with a total of 64 class hours. Then we implemented the certificate integrated teaching in major courses among midwifery students of 2021 grade,and evaluated the assessment results and students’ pass rate of “1+X” postpartum recovery(intermediate level) certificate,and compared it with the pass rate of students in the 2020 grade. Students’ evaluations of the curriculum,teaching conditions,and resources were investigated. Results The certificate assessment pass rate of the 2020 grade students was 65.5%(38/58),while the pass rate of the 2021 grade was 93.3%(56/60). The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(χ2=14.084,P<0.001). The overall satisfaction of students with the course was 97.4%,and the overall satisfaction with teaching resource was 96.3%. Conclusion The “1+X” postpartum recovery course integration teaching can help students better consolidate the theoretical foundation of postpartum recovery,improve their skill level,and can help them expand their career development skills,and enhance their competitive advantages.
