    Application of health education based on board game in volume management of elderly patients with maintenance hemodialysis

    Objective To explore the effect of health education based on board game in volume management of elderly patients with maintenance hemodialysis. Methods From July 2022 to January 2023,convenience sampling method was adopted to recruit 90 elderly patients who received maintenance hemodialysis in a tertiary hospital in Shanxi Province. These participants were divided into an experimental group and a control group by a random number table method. The experimental group adopted the health education program based on board game including preliminary understanding of board games,knowledge enhancement,role exchange and integration. Meanwhile the control group received routine health education program. The satisfaction of patients in the experimental group with board game was investigated,and the scores of hemodialysis disease knowledge,volume management behavior and rate of volume control were compared between the two groups after the intervention. Results A total of 43 patients in the intervention group and 42 patients in the control group had completed the study. After the intervention,86% of the patients in the experimental group were highly satisfied with board game. The scores of hemodialysis disease knowledge,volume management behavior in the intervention group were(19.19±2.03) and (21.49±1.82) respectively,which were higher than those of patients in the control group of(16.48±2.63) and(16.86±1.96)(t=5.335,11.306;P<0.001). In addition,the rate of volume control in the experimental group was 79%,higher than that of 55% in the control group(χ2=5.683,P<0.05). Conclusion The implementation of health education based on board game can effectively improve the knowledge level of elderly patients of maintenance hemodialysis,enhance volume management behavior and the compliance rate of volume control.

    Application of loose-leaf teaching materials in nursing safety training for newly graduated nurses

    Objective To explore the effect of application of a new loose-leaf teaching materials during the nursing safety training course of newly-graduated nurses. Methods Based on loose-leaf teaching materials and nursing safety training course,standard operation videos and nursing adverse event case videos were developed. According to time of employment,nurses admitted in September 2019 were assigned to the control group(n=43) and those admitted in September 2020 were recruited in the experimental group(n=54). In the control group,trainings were carried out with conventional teaching methods(self-made PPT courseware and other forms). In the experimental group,the new loose-leaf teaching materials were applied. Comparisons were made between the two groups of nurses after the course,including their levels of satisfaction about the training methods,their grades in the theory test and operation test three months later,and the occurrence of adverse nursing events caused by violation of the core nursing system during the two-year standardized training period of new nurses. Results Compared to the control group,nurses in the experimental group had higher levels of satisfaction about the training methods,higher grades in the theory test and operation test three months later(P<0.05). There were two adverse nursing events caused by violation of the core nursing system in the experimental group,while 14 events in the control group. Conclusion Compiling the new loose-leaf teaching materials to meet the demands of clinical nursing safety training is beneficial for the newly-graduated nurses,which can effectively improve their nursing safety awareness and standardization of operations.

    A study on the impact of reflective practice of clinical nurses on medication safety competence

    Objective To explore the impact of clinical nurses’ reflective practice on their medication safety competence,and provide reference for cultivating nurses’ medication safety competence. Methods Cross-sectional study design was adopted by convenient sampling. In 2022,clinical nurses from five grade Ⅲ hospitals in Zhengzhou were recruited and investigated by the general information questionnaire,the Chinese version of the Reflective Practice Questionnaire,and the Chinese version of the Medication Safety Competence Scale. Results A total of 1 127 valid questionnaires were collected,with the effective recovery rate was 87.16%. The total score of the nurses’ reflective practice was(128.97±16.07),and the total score of the medication safety competence was (138.39±25.13). Pearson correlation analysis showed that reflective practice was positively correlated with medication safety competence(r=0.579,P<0.001). Multiple linear regression analysis found that reflective practice was the influencing factor of clinical nurses’ medication safety competence(β=0.577,P<0.001),explaining 33.2% of the total variation(F=150.674, P<0.001) independently. Conclusion Reflective practice has a positive impact on the ability of clinical nurses to use drug safely,which could be improved by enhancing reflective practice.

    Analysis on the characteristics of nurses who suffer from workplace violence repeatedly

    Objective To understand the population characteristics of nurses who still suffer from workplace violence(WPV) repeatedly after training,and provide a theoretical basis for building targeted training strategies. Methods A total of 424 nurses from a general hospital in Suzhou who systematically received special training on WPV prevention strategies were selected by convenient sampling from May 2021 to September 2021. The nurses were respectively surveyed before training,at the 3rd,6th,and 9th months after training using the general information questionnaire,the revised version of the hospital WPV questionnaire,Chinese Big Five Personality Inventory brief version,and the WPV coping resource scale. Results After training,51.7%(219/424) of nurses still suffered from WPV repeatedly. Logistic regression results showed that personality characteristics(neurotic personality),working years(6—10 years) and departments(emergency,outpatient,surgery) were risk factors for nurses to suffer from workplace violence repeatedly after training(P<0.05). Training methods(online training) and high level of coping resources were protective factors for nurses to repeatedly suffer from workplace violence after training(P<0.05). Conclusion Nursing managers should focus on key departments such as emergency department and outpatient department,pay attention to nurses with neurotic personality characteristics who have worked for 6—10 years, conduct targeted online training for them,improve the level of coping resources,and to reduce the frequency of workplace violence.

    Application of the TeamSTEPPS in nursing safety education:a scoping review

    Objective This study aims to review the studies on the application of TeamSTEPPS in nursing safety education and to facilitate the future application of TeamSTEPPS in nursing safety education. Methods Arksey and O’Malley’s scoping review method was used as the framework. Relevant studies were comprehensively searched in database including Wanfang Data,CNKI,VIP, SinoMed, PubMed,CINAHL,Web of Science,Scopus,and Cochrane Library. The search time was set from the establishment of the database to April 18,2023. Results A total of 858 papers were retrieved and 18 of them were finally included. The teaching targets of TeamSTEPPS were mainly clinical nurses(n=12),and the teaching formats mainly included workshops,role plays,scenario-based exercises,group activities and so on. The limitations of the TeamSTEPPS application in nursing safety education were small sample size,short application duration,and lack of a uniform and reliable instrument for teaching evaluation. Conclusion TeamSTEPPS is flexible in its application in nursing safety education and can meet the individual needs of trainees to improve their safety knowledge and skills. In the future,it is necessary to expand the education targets and teaching scenarios,employ evaluation indicators related to patient safety outcomes,and evaluate the effects of TeamSTEPPS in nursing safety education from a comprehensive perspective.

    Objective To explore the teaching practice and its effect of ideology and political theory education in the course of Nursing Ethics using the BOPPPS teaching model. Methods A total of 89 nursing undergraduates of class 2021 in their first year were recruited. The course ideological and political theory education were carried out in Nursing Ethics course using the BOPPPS teaching model. The main components in teaching included formulating the objectives of the course ideological and political theory education based on the characteristics of the course,combined with the characteristics of students,combined with the requirements of professional personnel training. Then,a library of ideological and political cases was developed. After that,the ideological and political activities in the theoretical teaching,practical teaching and the second classroom with online courses as the carrier was carried out. Results About 97%(86/89) of the students evaluated the effect of ideological and political teaching as "very satisfied" or "satisfied". Process evaluation results of students were good and above,and the test paper scores were 100% qualified. The practice case of Nursing Ethics was selected as demonstration case of "Ten Education":curriculum education(full text) in Hunan Province in 2021. Curriculum teacher team has won the first prize of Curriculum Ideological and Political Teaching Competition in the 2022 of the university. Conclusion The positive effects of ideological and political courses of Nursing Ethics was demonstrated,achieving the double effect in professional knowledge and course thought politics.

    Objective To understand the current situation of learning acquisition sense of graduate nursing students and to investigate the influence of mentoring style on learning acquisition sense of graduate nursing students. Methods Convenience sampling method was employed and 241 nursing master’s students from seven universities in Guizhou Province and Guangdong Province were selected as the participants for investigation. General information questionnaire,the Learning Acquisition for Postgraduate Students,and the Mentoring Style Questionnaire were used for data collection. Results The total score of learning acquisition sense of graduate nursing students was (110.20±14.23). The results of stratified regression analysis showed that mentor-supportive mentoring style explained 38.7% of the total variance in graduate students’ learning acquisition perception. Conclusion Mentor supportive mentoring style is an influential factor in the learning acquisition perception of graduate nursing students,suggesting that the degree of matching between graduate students and mentor mentoring style should be emphasized.

    Objective To analyze the bottleneck of ideological and political education in medical virtual simulation experiment projects in Jiangsu Province and propose the optimized path. Methods Taking the medical projects of Jiangsu Province medical virtual simulation experiment platform as an example, the contents of the declaration form were sorted out by thematic framework analysis based on Kiegaldie’s 4P education model. Results Ideological and political education was widely carried out in medical virtual simulation experiments,83%(25/30) of the projects reflected this. The ideological and political themes of medical virtual experiments were mainly scientific research literacy and medical humanities. The ideological and political evaluation system of medical virtual simulation experiment courses was not perfect. Only 30%(9/30) of the projects contained ideological and political evaluation indicators and humanistic literacy was the main factor,and the evaluation content was too simple. Conclusion Ideological and political education in medical virtual simulation experiment projects still have difficulties such as the modulization of teaching design and teaching method,teaching goal generalization and the fragmentation of teaching evaluation. It is necessary to further optimize the teaching content of experimental design,experimental objective,experimental method,and experimental evaluation,so as to improve the ideological and political education quality of the medical virtual simulation experiment course.

    Reliability and validity of the Chinese version of Learning Immersion Scale in Clinical Simulation among nursing students

    Objective To translate the Learning Immersion Scale in clinical Simulation(LISS) and test its reliability and validity among nursing students. Methods According to the Brislin’s translation model,the Chinese version of the LISS was culturally revised by the forward-back translation,cultural adjustment and pilot survey from July to September 2022. A total of 250 nursing students were investigated by the convenience sampling method. The content validity was tested by six experts. The exploratory factor analysis was used to evaluate the structural validity. In addition,the internal consistency,and re-test reliability of the scale were evaluated. Results The Chinese version of LISS included four dimensions(cognitive assimilation,emotional buy-in,focused attention and learning experience) and 16 items. Exploratory factor analysis extracted four common factors,and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 88.266%. The content validity of the total scale and each item was 0.983,and 0.890~1.000 respectively. Cronbach’s α coefficient of the total scale and each dimension was 0.980,and 0.904~0.964 respectively. The re-test reliability was 0.913. Conclusion The Chinese version of the LISS has good reliability and validity,which can be used as an effective tool to evaluate the nursing students’ immersion in clinical simulation learning.

    Application of 7E teaching mode in clinical probation teaching of Surgical Nursing

    Objective To explore the application effect of 7E teaching mode in clinical practice teaching of Surgical Nursing. Methods A total of 157 third-year nursing undergraduates from grade 2017 were selected as the control group by convenience sampling method and taught by the traditional teaching mode. Another 162 nursing undergraduates in grade 2018 were selected as the experimental group,and taught by 7E teaching mode. Results After teaching,the theoretical knowledge,practical skills,total score,score of autonomous learning ability,empathy ability and the positive attitude score of communication skills of the experimental group were better than those of the control group(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the negative attitude scores between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion 7E teaching mode can improve the teaching effect of clinical practice,improve students’ independent learning ability and empathy ability,and improve their communication skills and attitudes.

    Study on the application of "Internet +" Centering Pregnancy health care model in late pregnancy of primiparas

    Objective To explore the effect of "Internet+" Centering Pregnancy health care model in late pregnancy(remote group prenatal education model) on the psychological condition of primiparas during pregnancy and delivery outcomes. Methods A total of 120 primiparous women in late pregnancy who were regularly examined in the hospital’s fetal heart monitoring unit were randomly divided into the experimental group(n=60) and the control group(n=60). Both groups were given routine health education(medical and nursing education at each antenatal check-up,midwife outpatient health education,etc.). In addition to the routine care,the control group was given offline late pregnancy courses at the maternity school,while the experimental group was given the "Internet+" Centering Pregnancy health care model intervention,which focused on late pregnancy health care knowledge,coping with labor,professional guidance and postnatal care. In the end,59 cases in the experimental group and 57 cases in the contral group completed the intervention. Pregnancy Pressure Scale(PPS) and Childbirth Expectation Question-naire(CEQ) were employed to compare the difference between the two groups before and after the intervention. Results After the intervention,the score on PPS were 0.53(0.26,0.70) and 0.70(0.35,1.13) in the experimental and control groups,respectively,which difference got statistically significant(Z=2.233,P=0.026). The mean scores for the factors of spousal support and medical environment in the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group. Conclusion The application of the "Internet+" Centering Pregnancy health care model in late pregnancy to provide distance education for primiparous mothers can reduce prenatal pregnancy stress of pregnant women and increase their expectation of a medical environment and spousal support for delivery. Such model is a beneficial supplement to offline health education.

    A concept analysis of ego-depletion in patients of chronic diseases

    Objective To explore the definition and connotation of the concept of ego-depletion in patients with chronic diseases,and to lay a foundation for the related research of ego-depletion. Methods Literature on ego-depletion from 1998 to 2022 in CINAHL,PubMed,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,Embase,CNKI,SinoMed databases and Wanfang Database were systematically searched. Walker and Avant’s conceptual analysis method was used to carry out conceptual analysis of the included literatures. Results A total of 39 articles were listed. The definition of ego-depletion included mental resource consumption,self-control ability decline and their interaction; The leading factors were disease related factors,demographic characteristics,sleep factors,cognitive factors,and psychosocial factors; The consequence included negative health behaviors,increased psychological burden and reduced quality of life. The measuring tools included Self-Regulatory Fatigue Scale,Ego Depletion Aftereffects Scale,and Ego Depletion Source Scale. Conclusion This study clarified the defining attributes,antecedents and consequences of ego-depletion in patients with chronic diseases,laid a foundation for the development of assessment tools,theoretical model construction and intervention research of ego-depletion in chronic disease in the future.

    Application of open dynamic evaluation model in promoting high quality nursing service

    Under the background of full coverage of high-quality nursing services and high-quality development of public hospitals,and aimed at the problem of insufficient development and uneven effectiveness of high-quality nursing services,Hunan Provincial Health Commission implemented an open evaluation model involving the majority of nursing managers by updating standards,carrying out self-evaluation,interpreting standards,setting up benchmarks,demonstrating and leading,homogenous training,following-up observation and cross-evaluation. In addition,the dynamic evaluation of quality nursing services in the whole province was carried out through the innovative application of role interaction and transformation of evaluators. This high-quality nursing service evaluation has high participation and wide coverage,and the linkage of the whole province was realized. The open dynamic evaluation model is feasible in the quality nursing supervision of the whole province,which is conducive to finding out the problems existing in different medical institutions and promoting the effective practice of nursing managers in the dynamic evaluation of role exchange.

    Experience of children and adolescents with cancer returning to school:a qualitative Meta-synthesis

    Objective To integrate the qualitative research on the experience of children and adolescents with cancer returning to school,so as to assist oncology medical staff and stakeholders to understand the feelings and thoughts of children and adolescents with cancer returning to school,and develop beneficial psychosocial intervention programs. Methods Computer retrieval of qualitative research on the experience or feelings of children and adolescent cancer patients returning to school was undertaken in databases including CINAHL,Embase,PubMed,Scopus,The Cochrane Library,Web of Science,EBSCO,Wanfang,CNKI,and CBM. Relevant papers were retrieved from the establishment of the database to June 2023. The included literature was firstly evaluated by JBI Evidence-based Health Care Center qualitative research quality evaluation standard,and then the original results of the included studies were integrated by Meta-integration method. Results A total of five literatures were included,21 original research results were extracted,and three integration results were pooled. The first integration result referred to long-term coordination of academic and treatment conflicts,suffering difficulties and backwardness. The second integration involved managing disease and change,expecting understanding and support. The third result focused on going back to school brings benefits and patients start a new life. Conclusion Children and adolescent cancer patients who return to school perceive that cancer has caused multiple changes and influences,and it is difficult to coordinate learning and treatment,leading to poor school performance. While returning to school enables them to return to normal life and acquire many benefits,which should pay attention to the difficulty and particularity of patients in school. Active collaboration of schools,hospitals and families would promote the re-integration of children and adolescents with cancer into their school and social environment.

    The research topics and hot spots of cancer patients’ discharge preparation

    Objective To analyze the current status and hotspots of research on cancer patient discharge preparation,and to understand the development direction of cancer patient discharge preparation services. Methods The literature related to cancer patients’ discharge preparation in PubMed,Web of Science,CINAHL,CNKI,Wanfang,and VIP databases was retrieved from 1979 to October 2022. The software of EndNote was employed for bibliometric analysis and VOSviewer was applied for high-frequency topic word clustering analysis. Results A total of 275 articles were included,including English articles(65.09%) and Chinese articles(34.91%). The overall number of literature on cancer patient discharge preparation was increasing. The Chinese literature mainly focused on descriptive research(56/96) and quasi experimental research(25/96),while the English literature mainly focused on descriptive research(42/179) and analytical research(35/179). The clustering analysis results showed that the research hotspots in Chinese literature include three themes:influencing factors of cancer patients’ discharge preparation,quality of discharge guidance,and quality of life. The research hotspots in English literature could classified into two themes:palliative care and precare plans for cancer patients,and evaluation of the effectiveness of cancer patient discharge preparation. Conclusion In recent years,there has been an increasing number of studies on the preparation for discharge of cancer patients,and rigorous intervention and qualitative research are still insufficient. It is necessary to build a multidisciplinary collaborative discharge preparation service team,reflecting the role of a nurse navigator,improving the discharge readiness of patients and their caregivers,thereby reducing readmission rates and improving the quality of life of cancer patients.

    Conceptual analysis of psychological insulin resistance in diabetes patients

    Objective To analyze and define the concept of psychological insulin resistance in diabetic patients by Walker and Avant conceptual analysis method. Methods We systematically searched PubMed,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,Embase,CINAHL, CNKI, VIP, Wanfang,CBM and other databases. Walker and Avant conceptual analysis framework was applied to analyze psychological insulin resistance in terms of concept definition,concept attributes,antecedents,consequences and assessment tools. Results A total of 89 literatures related to psychological insulin resistance were included. Psychological insulin resistance in patients with diabetes included three attributes:negative psychology,misperceptions,and inadequate coping. The antecedents factors included patients-related factors,factors related to insulin treatment,and supportive factors. Conclusion Clarifying the concept of psychological insulin resistance in diabetic patients through the Walker and Avant conceptual analysis method can help medical staffs raise awareness and identify psychological insulin resistance more easily. In addition,it can provide reference for researchers to conduct further related studies.

    Objective To summarize the application status and effect of team-based learning(TBL) in nursing undergraduate teaching,and to provide reference for improving the teaching effect of TBL. Methods Scoping review proposed by Andrea was utilized as the methodological framework. Relevant literatures in PubMed,Web of Science,Cochrane Library,Embase,CNKI,Wanfang Database and VIP database were systematically searched for from the establishment of the database to March 7,2023. The instructional design scheme and evaluation index of the included literature were analyzed. Results A total of 14 literatures were included. TBL was applied in a number of nursing undergraduate teaching courses. The teaching program included pre-class grouping,readiness test,applied practice and other core elements. There were various evaluation indicators,including the main competence objectives of TBL courses,as well as other evaluation indicators such as course achievement and course satisfaction. Conclusion TBL is widely used in undergraduate nursing teaching both domestically and internationally,but the implementation process is not standardized. The evaluation indicators cover a wide range,but the evaluation tools are not scientific enough.

    The assessment of core competency is of great significance for promoting clinical nursing teachers’ self-development and improving quality of nursing care. This paper reviewed the research progress of assessment tools for evaluating core competency of clinical nursing teachers,including definition of clinical nursing teacher,the concept and element of clinical nursing teachers’ core competence,the introduction of core competence assessment tools for clinical nursing teachers. Hopefully,this review will provide reference for the research of clinical nursing teachers’ core competence in the future.

    Academic resilience refers to students’ ability to cope with typical academic setbacks in school activities successfully. The study of academic resilience has enlightening significance for students to cope with daily academic setbacks and adversities,and also provides theoretical reference for nursing educators to formulate educational strategies as well as clinical practice training plans. Through literature review,this paper summarized the related concepts,measurement tools,research status of academic resilience of nursing students,and put forward targeted development strategies so as to provide theoretical reference and guidance for related research of academic resilience of nursing students.

    Physical activity can improve the activity endurance,reduce the risk of recurrence,improve the prognosis of cancer,and enhance the quality of life of cancer survivors. However,the patient compliance is not good in the actual intervention. This paper systematically reviewed compliance and related studies of physical activity interventions in cancer survivors at home,including the evaluation methods,influencing factors and improving strategies,and put forward strategies to improve adherence. Hopefully,this paper will provide reference for nursing practice in home physical activity intervention of cancer survivors.

    The dyadic symptom evaluation refers to the common evaluation from physical,emotional,and cognitive conditions made by patients and their caregivers,which focuses on the consistencies and discrepancies of symptom evaluation between patients and their caregivers. This paper summarized the concepts,related theoretical models,contents and influencing factors of dyadic symptom evaluation. It aims to provide references for development of dyadic symptom management and dyadic intervention programs for patients with chronic diseases and their caregivers.

    As a tool for evaluating clinical reasoning abilities,the effectiveness of script concordance test and thinking aloud in evaluating students’ clinical reasoning ability has been verified. In recent years,foreign scholars have explored the combined application of the two,providing new methods and strategies for evaluating students’ clinical reasoning ability. Therefore,this paper reviewed the overview,development,implementation and application of script concordance test combined with thinking aloud,and discussed its implications for the evaluation of clinical reasoning ability of nursing students,in order to provide reference for optimizing related education and teaching strategies.
