Abstract:

Objective To translate and culturally adapt the Perceived Stressors in Intensive Care Units（PS-ICU）,and to test its reliability and validity. Methods The PS-ICU was translated into Chinese and back-translated following the Brislin’s model. The translated scale was further revised based on the results of pilot study. An expert panel（n=8）was used to evaluate the content validity of the PS-ICU. Convenience sampling method was adopted to conduct a questionnaire survey on 516 ICU nurses. Exploratory Factor Analysis（EFA） and Confirmatory Factor Analysis（CFA）were used to test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version PS-ICU. Results EFA showed that seven factors shared a cumulative contribution rate of 62.790%. The CFA confirmed that the model fit well with χ²/df=2.582,CFI=0.907,RMSEA=0.055,and SRMR=0.045. The total Cronbach’s coefficient of the scale was 0.972,S-CVI of the scale was 0.968,and I-CVI were between 0.871 to 1.000. Conclusion The simplified Chinese version PS-ICU has good reliability and validity. The scale can be used to assess ICU nurses’ specific stressors.
