Abstract:

Objective To explore the effects of a offline + online cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) training based on forgetting curve in community residents. Methods Residents in 3 communities were recruited by convenience sampling and CPR training was conducted among these residents. First off-line intensive theoretical and skill training was carried out. The online training was then provided on the 1st day,2nd day,4th day,6th day,15th day,30th day,60th day,and 90th day. The online-training included micro-videos and CPR educational games. The CPR knowledge and self-rated CPR ability were assessed before the training, after the offline training and after the online training. The CPR skills were evaluated after the offline training and the online training. Results A total of 67 residents participated in the whole training and completed the assessment. According to the trend chi-square test, after the training, the correctness of the theoretical knowledge of each item of CPR increased linearly among the community residents(P<0.05). The skill assessment score of community residents after offline training was(7.88±1.30),and after online training it was(8.03±1.38). The proportion of community residents who believed that they could do CPR correctly increased from 6%(4/67) before the training to 100%(67/67) after the training. Conclusion The application of offline + online CPR training based on forgetting curve can improve the CPR knowledge and skills of community residents and increase residents’ willingness and behavior to perform first aid.
