Abstract:

Objective To investigate the job satisfaction of peripheral insert central catheter （PICC） specialist

nurses in Hunan province and to analyze the related influencing factors. Methods The questionnaire survey was
conducted among 387 PICC specialist nurses who were qualified from second or tertiary hospitals in Hunan
Province by using the Index of Work Satisfaction of Chinese version （IWS）. Results The mean total score of IWS
among PICC specialist nurses in Hunan province was （134.69 ±18.46）， The job satisfaction of PICC specialist
nurses varied due to different levels of health status，monthly income，and whether the hospital had the PICC outpatient department， which accounted for 13.6% of the total variance. Conclusion The job satisfaction of PICC
specialist nurses in Hunan province was at the middle level. The nursing managers need to take corresponding
measures to improve job satisfaction of nurses and to stabilize specialist nurses.
