Abstract: Objective To evaluate the effects of the Kirkpatrick’s evaluation model in training of new nurses in ICU，so as to provide reference for further improving the standardized training of new nurses in ICU. Methods From July 2016 to June 2018，59 nurses from the affiliated hospital of Qingdao University were selected. Those new nurses were divided into three groups and completed the new nurses training in the ICU. The training plan was revised according to the results of the Kirkpatrick’s evaluation model. The effects in four layers of the Kirk-patrick’s evaluation model named reaction，learning，behavior，and result were compared among the three groups. Results After adjusting the training program according to results of the first group，the results of the second and third groups in the four layers were much better than those in the first group（P<0.05）. Conclusion Based on the Kirkpatrick’s evaluation model，the training of new nurses in ICU can promote the level of nurses’ knowledge and skills.
