Objective To explore the design and practical effectiveness of a three-stage progressive ideological and political teaching model in Surgical Nursing course based on the Community of Inquiry(COI) model. Methods The teaching presence, cognitive presence, and social presence of COI were used as core elements to construct a three-stage progressive ideological and political teaching path:pre-class knowledge initiation(online),in-depth understanding during class (offline),and post-class knowledge internalization (offline). Video cases,game-based teaching, and reflective diaries were integrated into ideological and political education. The effectiveness of the course’s ideological and political construction was evaluated from both student feedback and peer assessment, involving 165 full-time nursing undergraduates from the 2022 grade. Results Students generally gave high evaluations to the ideological and political teaching reform. The course deepened students’ understanding of the value of the nursing profession, prompted them to reconsider the essence of surgical nursing work, positively shifted their employment intentions, and significantly improved learning outcomes. Students also provided insights on the limitations of online second classroom construction. The course was recognized as a university-level ideological and political demonstration course and a provincial-level first-class online and offline course. Conclusion The three-stage progressive ideological and political teaching model in surgical nursing based on COI has achieved significant results, demonstrating a synergistic effect in course-based education. Further integration of online ideological and political resources with offline cases is recommended to enhance student learning interest.

Objective To design the teaching case micro films and explore its application effect in undergraduate Geriatric Nursing course. Methods The research team combined the micro-film teaching method with case teaching, built a total of 11 teaching case micro-films,and applied them to offline teaching. After class,176 students were surveyed on course satisfaction, and semi-structured interviews were conducted with students and teachers respectively. Results A total of 167(95%) students believed that micro-film cases were conducive to enhancing learning interest,88% of the students believed that micro-film cases were conducive to understanding and mastering knowledge,79% thought and political elements were naturally appropriate. However,16% perceived the pre-class online preparation tasks as burdensome, while 91% were satisfied with the overall implementation of case teaching. Interviews revealed that students viewed the case-based microfilms not only stimulated their desire to actively explore knowledge but also helped them quickly recall relevant information when facing patients. Teachers noted that after adopting the case-based microfilm teaching method, student participation in class significantly improved. However, they also mentioned that tasks such as scriptwriting, filming, and post-production required a substantial amount of effort, significantly increased their workload. Conclusion Teaching case micro-film can stimulate students’ learning interest, promote knowledge understanding, help improve teachers’ classroom guidance ability, and provide reference for the integration of ideological and political elements in Geriatric Nursing curriculum.

The contents of the questionnaire include the basic situation of the nursing unit, the implementation of catheterization, the selection of urinary catheters, the situation of operators, the current maintenance status, urine culture collection, relevant norms and standards for catheterization and training situations, and the status of complications, etc. Results A total of 70 effective questionnaires were obtained. Only 58 wards carried out urethral catheterization, which from 54 hospitals. In 71% of the nursing units(41/58),there were norms for neonatal catheterization operations, and there were significant differences among the nursing units. 60%(35/58) had standards for 6F balloon water injection volume. All the 58 wards regularly changed urine drainage bags, but the period was different from ward to ward. Conclusion There is a lack of standard neonatal catheterization norms, and the standard of procedure needs to be further improved.

Objective To explore the influencing factors of nosocomial infection in children with malignant tumor after chemotherapy, and to develop a nomogram model to predict these risks. Methods A retrospective study design was adopted. A total of 320 children undergoing chemotherapy for malignant tumors were conveniently selected as the modeling group between June 2023 and May 2024 in a tertiary A hospital in Zhengzhou. Data were collected through the electronic medical record system. Then,a prospective study design was used to select 140 children with malignant tumors undergoing chemotherapy from June 2024 to November 2024 as the validation group. Logistic regression analysis was used to determine the risk factors of nosocomial infection. A nomogram was developed by R4.3.3 software and validated to predict the risk of nosocomial infection in children with malignant tumor after chemotherapy. Results Logistic regression analysis showed that hospital stays≥11 d,white blood cell count≤4 × 109/L,neutrophil count≤2 × 109/L,serum albumin<35 g/L were independent risk factors of nosocomial infection in children with malignant tumor after chemotherapy(P<0.05). The Hosmer-Lemeshow test of the model was P=0.943,the area under the ROC curve was 0.868,the best cutoff value was 0.400,the sensitivity was 0.902,the specificity was 0.697. The model validation results showed that the area under the ROC curve was 0.873,reflecting a good fitting effect of the risk prediction model. Conclusion The risk prediction model constructed in this study has good discrimination and accuracy. It can be used to predict the risk of nosocomial infection in children with malignant tumor after chemotherapy, providing the reference for management and preventative intervention strategies for high-risk children.
