Abstract:

Objective For the shortage of respiratory therapists in hospitals，this study aims to explore the training of nurses for respiratory therapists，and construct the objectives and contents of respiratory therapy training for nurses. Methods Based on KSAO model，literature review，semi-structured interviews，and Delphi method were used to determine the goals and contents of respiratory therapy nursing training. Results The effective recovery rate of the two rounds of expert letter inquiries was 95%（20/21）and 100%（20/20），respectively. The authoritative coefficient of the second round of letter inquiries to experts was 0.912. The training objectives included three first-level indicators and 24 second-level indicators while the training content included four first-level indicators （respiratory professional theoretical knowledge，respiratory treatment skills，professional abilities and qualities，respiratory treatment quality control and improvement），16 second-level indicators and 81 three-level indicators. Conclusion This study constructs a practical，scientific，and in line with the needs of clinical situations training objectives and contents for respiratory therapy specialist nurses，which can provide a reference for the training and work of respiratory therapy training for nurses.
