The content included basic knowledge of diabetes, five horse-drawn carriages of treatments, complications care, home care, matters for attention in school life. From June 2021 to June 2022, children with newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes admitted to the Department of Endocrinology of a hospital in Hangzhou were conveniently selected as participants and divided into control group and experimental group according to the time of admission, with 50 participants in each group. The control group was given the traditional form of health education, while the experimental group was given the traditional form of education plus educational flying chess for health education. The mastery of health education knowledge between the two groups was compared, and the satisfaction of the children and their parents to the use of educational flying chess was evaluated. Results The children in the experimental group had better knowledge of diabetes(88.72 ± 4.60) than the control group(77.64± 10.70). The difference was statistically significant(t=6.724,P<0.001). Children and their parents of experimental group held high satisfaction(94%) with the educational flying chess. Conclusion Children’s diabetes health education through flying chess combined with traditional form of education can improve the theoretical knowledge level of children with diabetes, which is a helpful tool for health education for children with diabetes.
