Abstract:

Objective To understand the status of decent work perception of pediatric nurses in general hospitals and to explore its influencing factors. Methods A convenience sampling method was used to study 402 pediatric nurses in 8 major hospitals in Quanzhou city,China. A cross-sectional survey was conducted using the General Survey Form,the Decent Work Perception Scale,the Chinese Nurses Stressor Scale,and the Work Family Support Scale. Results The score of Decent Work Perception Scale was（50.94±12.61）. The linear regression analysis showed that salary,being a staff or not,being a leader or not,workplace violence,work-related stress,work support,and family support were all the influencing factors of pediatric nurses decent work perception（P<0.05）,which accounted for 65.4% of the total variation. Conclusion Pediatric nurses in general hospitals had low perception of decent work. We suggest that hospital managers take tailored measures to address those influencing factors to improve nurses’ perception of decent work.
