Abstract:

Objective To develop the specialized stroke care training program and to evaluate the programme effects in training junior nurses. Methods We established a research team and the quality indicators of specialized stroke care were confirmed through literature search, group discussion, expert interview, and Delphi method. According to the indicators and papers published, the specialized stroke care training program was developed. In June 2019,thirty-five junior nurses were trained through classroom teaching, skills demonstration, scenario simulation and ward rounds. After the training, the effects were evaluated through assessing the results of theoretical examination, skills, case analysis, and the sensitive indicators. Results After the training, the scores of theory examination, skill examination and case analysis were higher than those before the training(P<0.05). The specialized care quality were significantly improved after the training(P<0.05). Conclusion The specialized stroke care training based on quality indicators can achieve the expected effects and it provides reference for the training of junior nurses in specialized nursing ability.
