The perspectives and experiences of nursing educator with caring:a meta-synthesis

Abstract:

Objective To systematically evaluate the perspectives and experiences of nursing educator with caring. Methods According to the ENTREQ guideline,both Chinese and English databases were searched from inception to January 31,2020,to search the qualitative studies on perspectives and experiences of nursing educator with caring. The quality of included studies was evaluated according to JBI Qualitative Assessment and Review Instrument. A thematic synthesis was undertaken to develop descriptive themes. Results A total of 9 articles were included and 10 new categories were formed. Three integrated findings were obtained as follows:the importance and influencing factors of caring ability of nursing educator;the caring experienced by educator from themselves,colleagues,students,and organizations;and caring forms of nursing educator. Conclusion Institutions should pay attention to the caring experience of nursing educator,and take action to improve the caring experience of nursing educator so that they can provide better caring education for nursing students.
