Abstract: Objective To explore the effects of innovative ability training for nursing undergraduates. Methods Measures included building up research group according to students interests，building up professional innovative associations establishing bases with functions of teaching and practice，and implementing individualized cultivating plans. Results From 2016 to 2018，there were 77 scientific research projects were funded respectively. Nine papers were published and 5 patents were approved. Students won 18 awards in various innovative competitions both inside and outside the school. They completed 2 municipal level projects under the guidance of teachers. Conclusion The extracurricular activities can improve the innovative ability of nursing undergraduates.
