Abstract:

Objective To explore the status and influencing factors of fall fear in pregnant women. Methods A total of 243 pregnant women in a tertiary obstetrics and gynecology hospital in Zhejiang province were recruited. The women were investigated by general data questionnaire,Falls Efficacy Scale International,Family Adaptation Partnership Growth Affection and Resolve Index and Home Falls and Accidents Screening Tool. Results The total score of fall fear in 243 pregnant women was(40.43±9.29). Fear of falling was negatively correlated with family care and family environment(r=-0.446、-0.337,P<0.001). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that gestational age, conception mode, working during pregnancy, falling history during pregnancy, family caring level and family environment were the main influencing factors(P<0.05),which could explain 48.5% variation of fall fear level. Conclusion Pregnant women’s fear of falling is in the middle level and is affected by many factors. Medical workers in maternal and child health care institutions should strengthen the fall education, pay attention to pregnant women’s fear of falling and take effective measures to manage their fear.
