Abstract:

Objective To investigate the effects of mindfulness-based stress reduction(MBSR) on mindfulness level and quality of life in postoperative breast cancer patients. Methods The breast cancer patients who met the various inclusion criteria from January 2017 to September 2018 were recruited by convenience sampling and divided into the control group and the experimental group with 23 patients in each group. Patients in the control group received routine care while patients in the experimental group received MBSR. Seven weeks after the intervention, mindfulness level and quality of life of patients in both groups were compared. Results After the intervention, the levels of mindfulness of patients in the experimental group and the control group were(64.43±5.71)and(55.61±5.93)respectively. The mindfulness differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Quality of life in the experimental group was(96.48±5.83)while it was(84.83±4.82)for the control group, and the differences were also statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Revised MBSR can improve the level of mindfulness in breast cancer patients and improve their quality of life.
