Abstract:

Objective To explore the mechanism of self-disclosure and marital intimacy in breast cancer patients of childbearing age in relation to their mental resilience and reproductive concerns after cancer. Methods The general questionnaire,Chinese Version of the Reproductive Concerns After Cancer, and the Distress Disclosure Index and the 14-Item Resilience Scale were distributed to 201 breast cancer of childbearing age from November 2019 to August 2020 in two tertiary hospitals in Guangzhou. Model 4 and Model 14 in the SPSS 22.0 Process macro Model are respectively used to verify mediating effect and regulated mediating effect. Results Resilience,self-disclosure were negatively correlated with post-cancer reproductive concerns(r=-0.42,-0.44,all P<0.001). Resilience was positively correlated with self-disclosure(r=0.32,P<0.001). Self-disclosure played a partial mediating role in the effect of mental resilience on reproductive concerns after cancer(effect value was -0.09,95%CI:-0.14~-0.05),accounting for 23.21% of the total effect. Spousal intimacy played a moderating role in the relationship between self-disclosure and reproductive concerns after cancer(β=-0.14,P<0.05),the higher the level of intimate relationship between husband and wife, the greater the influence of self-disclosure on reproductive concerns after cancer. Conclusion Mental resilience of breast cancer patients of childbearing age and their intimate relationship can alleviate their worries about fertility after cancer, which can be used as a reference for the nursing of fertility after cancer.
