Abstract:

Objective To systematically assess the quality of psychometric properties and methodological quality of digital health literacy assessment tools for older adults. Methods Computerized searches were conducted in CNKI,VIP,Wanfang Data,CBM,PubMed,Embase,CINAHL and Web of Science databases for studies related to the evaluation of psychometric properties and methodological quality of digital health literacy assessment tools for older adults from the database inception to March 9,2025. Two researchers independently screened the literature and extracted data. The Consensus-based Standards for the Selection of Health Measurement Instruments(COSMIN) were used to evaluate the assessment tools and formulate final recommendations. Results A total of 11 studies were included, involving eight digital health literacy assessment tools for older adults. None of the studies reported the measurement error or responsiveness of the assessment tools. Based on evidence of low quality or better, the Digital Health Literacy Assessment Tools for Community-Dwelling Older Adults and Everyday Digital Literacy Questionnaire demonstrated “sufficient” content validity and internal consistency. These two assessment tools received a Grade A recommendation. All other assessment tools were recommended as Grade B. Conclusion The Digital Health Literacy Assessment Tools for Community-Dwelling Older Adults and Everyday Digital Literacy Questionnaire can be tentatively recommended, although some measurement properties still need further verification.
