Abstract:

Objective To analyze the influencing factors of undergraduate nursing students’ pre-simulation preparation for scenario simulation. Methods Semi-structured interviews were conducted with junior students participating in a scenario-based simulation operation at a School of Nursing of a college. Data were organized and refined into themes using traditional content analysis in conjunction with the Competency,Opportunity,Motivation-Behaviour(COM-B) model. Results Pre-simulation preparation was influenced by a variety of factors, including the material conditions, social opportunities, reflective motivation, and spontaneous motivation. Conclusion Instructors and instructional administrators of scenario simulation should improve the material conditions of pre-simulation preparation, reduce students’ learning pressures, and stimulate students’ motivation in order to promote students’ pre-simulation learning preparation.
