Objective To design a social practice course of Public Self-rescue and Mutual Rescue Technology and to evaluate the effect through implementation. Methods Delphi Technique was adopted to determine the syllabus of Public Self-rescue and Mutual Rescue Technology as an optional course for social practice majors. After consultation,1.5 credits for the course was determined with a total class hours of 27,which included 3 in-school experiment classes totaling 6 class hours,and 5 out-school practice classes totaling 21 class hours. The teaching contents included the consciousness of self-rescue and mutual rescue,cardiopulmonary resuscitation,Heimlich method,first-aid drill at the scene of car accident,common family emergencies,self-rescue and mutual rescue of accidental injury,hemostasis and bandage fixation technology. A total of 44 third-year undergraduate nursing students had chosen this course. The teaching effect of the course was evaluated through the examination score and online teaching evaluation. Results The students’ total assessment score was(90.25±1.49),including the score of theoretical assessment(92.43±2.53),the score of operational assessment(90.35±3.87),the score of trial assessment(88.76±2.37),and the score of social practice report(90.16±1.87). The score of first aid drama competition was(88.43±1.53). Meanwhile,the online evaluation of the teaching system scored 98.69 points. Conclusion The social practice course of Public Self-rescue and Mutual rescue Technology can improve students’ first-aid knowledge,first-aid training ability,and enhance their willingness to rescue and advance awareness of first-aid knowledge and skills,which is highly evaluated by students.
