    The characteristics of teacher-student interaction behaviors in the traditional class and the flipped class

    Objective To compare and analyze the characteristics of interactive behaviors in the flipped classroom and the traditional classroom. Methods Nursing students of Grade 2017 in Nanchang University were assigned to the control group and traditional classroom teaching was used in this group. Students in Grade 2018 were assigned to the experimental group and flipped classroom teaching was used in this group. The chapter of “care of patients with heart failure” in the Medical Nursing was chosen and the whole teaching process was recorded by video. The behaviors of teachers and students in the two groups were analyzed by using NVivo 11.0 software and behavior coding system. Results The proportion of teacher’s speech,student’s speech,classroom silence and technology of the total behaviors in the experimental group were 35.09%,48.75%,4.89% and 11.27%,respectively. The proportion of teacher’s speech,student’s speech,classroom silence and technology of the total behavior in the control group were 84.65%,8.19%,1.13% and 6.04%,respectively. There were significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the specific behavior ratios of teacher’s speech,students’ speech and technical behavior(P<0.05),while there were no statistically significant differences in the specific behavior ratios of classroom silence(P=0.062). Conclusion There are differences in the specific behavior rates of teacher’s speech,students’ speech and technical behaviors between the traditional classroom and the flipped classroom teaching,while the proportion of classroom silence in the flipped classroom and the traditional classroom teaching is not different.

    Development and psychometric properties of the questionnaire on occupational safety of nurses in the operating room

    Objective To develop the Occupational Security Questionnaire for nurses in the operating room and test its reliability and validity. Methods The primary item pool was constructed according to the literature analysis and findings of semi-structured interviews with 55 nurses in the operating room. The draft of the questionnaire was developed through consultation with 12 experts with Delphi method. Revision was further made by a pilot survey with 12 nurses. Totally 325 nurses in the operating room were recruited to test the reliability and validity of the questionnaire. A total of 125 nurses were invited to complete the questionnaire for a second time 30 days after their first completion of the questionnaire. Results The Occupational Security Questionnaire was made up of 5 dimensions including environmental security,emotional exhaustion,value realization,management policy and development prospect with totally 47 items. The Cronbach’s α was 0.837 and test-retest reliability was 0.820. The exploratory factor analysis showed five factors identified involving environmental security,emotional exhaustion,value realization,management policy and development prospect,accounting for 70.362% of the total variance. Conclusion The questionnaire has good reliability and validity and can be used to evaluate the occupational security level of nurses in the operating room.

    Objective To develop the thesis evaluation system for master of nursing specialist(MNS) in Shanghai. Methods Senior nursing experts and management experts in graduate education from universities or hospitals in Shanghai were invited to participate in the expert consultation meetings. Using nominal group technique(NGT),the basic requirements and evaluation system of thesis for MNS in Shanghai were jointly discussed. The evaluation system was final revised after calling for comments from supervisors in MNS program of universities. Results The quality evaluation system of thesis for MNS included research quality and writing quality. According to the education objectives of MNS,two types of theses are basically confirmed,including research report and case(series) analysis. The evaluation system of thesis mainly included the topic selection in specialty,application,innovation,scientific attributes,and standardization,with the corresponding weights being 20%,20%,15%,25%,and 20%. Conclusion The thesis evaluation system for MNS refine the elements of evaluation indexes with corresponding weights,which will provide a reference for the objective and comprehensive evaluation of their thesis,and standardize the training of MNS.

    This paper introduced the development and application of the diversified evaluation program in the Advanced Nursing Practice in School of Nursing,School of Medicine,Soochow University. According to the training orientation of master of nursing specialist,the objectives of Advanced Nursing Practice and the characteristics of teaching content,a diversified evaluation program with 4 aspects including practical assessment,humanistic quality activities,comprehensive classroom performance and reflective diary was constructed through literature research and expert group meetings. The program was used to evaluate knowledge,skills,attitudes,emotions and other aspects of MSN graduate students. The scores of practice assessment,humanistic quality activities,comprehensive classroom performance and reflection diary of the 48 students of grade 2019 were(87.68±3.45),(9.52±0.65),(8.90±0.97) and(90.17±2.05),respectively. The feedback to the diversified evaluation program was good. This diversified evaluation program can stimulate students’ autonomy and effective reflection in learning,enhance students’ classroom participation,and cultivate their humanistic qualities. It can provide references for the design and improvement of evaluation programs for other colleges and universities.

    Master of nursing is an important part of the high-level talents cultivation in nursing discipline. It is the backbone for nursing discipline development and plays an increasingly important role in medical and health care systems. This paper analyzed the characteristics of postgraduate training in the first batch of nursing first-class discipline construction sites in China,compared them with the overall training of graduate students,and analyzed the reasons and difficulties. We optimized the training path of nursing graduates from the aspects of expanding the enrollment scale,promoting the integration of multiple disciplines,clarifying the training objectives and optimizing the curriculum to provide useful references for training of nursing graduates and the high-quality development of nursing discipline in China.

    Objective To analyze the training system and characteristics of graduate education in nursing engineering and nursing informatics in the United States. Methods Data related to postgraduate training system of nursing engineering and nursing informatics were collected and analyzed by content analysis. Results The training objective of nursing engineering and nursing informatics in America cultivates applied and innovative talents who use cross-knowledge and skills to solve clinical practical problems. In terms of the admission,nursing engineering has higher requirements for science and engineering literacy,while nursing informatics prefer the candidates who have learning and working experience in nursing. The students are jointly supervised and guided by multi-disciplinary tutors or cross-background faculties. Seminars,clinical practice,laboratory rotation and completion of graduate projects are included in the scientific research training to improve students’ scientific research level. In order to stimulate and promote interdisciplinary research,nursing engineering and nursing informatics universities are equipped with interdisciplinary research centers and set up special awards. Conclusion The graduate education in nursing engineering and nursing informatics in the United States has had its own training system nowadays. They cultivate practical and creative talents. Cross-background faculty,research platform and special rewards has been set up to promote interdisciplinary research and cooperation. However,the quality of graduate education curriculum and assessment remains to be developed. Nursing colleges and universities in China could learn from the mature experience of foreign countries to accelerate the training of innovative nursing talents to improve the level of nursing education and meet the clinical needs.

    Application of the blended teaching in Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing

    Objective To explore the effects of the blended teaching in Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing. Methods From September to December 2020,two classes of nursing students in a medical college in Hunan province were assigned to the control group(38 students) and the experimental group(38 students). Students in the control group received multimedia teaching including face-to-face classroom teaching and online teaching supplemented. Students in the experimental group received blended teaching,including systematic thinking,question-orientated guide,key points,classical cases,practices,and knowledge expansion. At the end of the course,students in the two groups were assessed by examination and skill assessment. Besides,the course evaluation scale and Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory-Chinese Version were used. Results At the end of the semester,the examination score(82.05±4.19) and skills assessment(90.05±2.05) of students in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group(79.37±4.76 and 88.82±2.17,respectively)(all P<0.05). The curriculum evaluation score of students in the experimental group(108.97±7.49) was higher than that in the control group(104.39±6.96)(P<0.05). The scores of critical thinking in the experimental group were better than those in the control group with regard to truth seeking,analytical ability,systematization ability and desire for knowledge and the total score of critical thinking(P<0.05). Conclusion The blended teaching can improve the teaching quality of Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing,and also improve students’ knowledge and critical thinking. It is well accepted by students.

    The construction of an empathy ability training program for nursing interns

    Objective To construct an empathy ability training program of nursing interns. Methods Through literature review,research group meeting discussion,and pre-consultation,the draft of the empathy ability training program for nursing interns was developed. Sixteen experts were invited to conduct two rounds of consultation to determine the final contents of the program. Results The effective questionnaire response rates of the two rounds of expert consultation were all 100%. The authority coefficients were 0.867 and 0.894,respectively. The Kendall coordination coefficients were 0.167 and 0.240(all P<0.01). The final empathy ability training program for nursing interns included 3 first-level items,11 second-level items,and 22 third-level items. Conclusion The empathy ability training program for nursing interns constructed in this study is scientific and reliable. It can provide a scientific reference for the cultivation of empathy ability of nursing interns.

    Objective To analyze the effects of the clinical scene reappearance integrated with humanistic elements in training of junior psychiatric nurses. Methods A total of 93 junior psychiatric nurses were recruited in a psychiatric hospital and were trained with clinical scene reappearance integrated with humanistic elements. Design and application of training included 5 steps including data collection,designing reappearance scenes,partners presence sharing,practice and reflection,and organizing seminars. Evaluations were conducted using Jefferson Scale of Empathy-Health Professionals(JSE-HP),Emotional Labor Scale(ELS) and Caring Ability Inventory(CAI),combined with the nurse reflection diary before training and 3 months in clinical setting after the training. Results Eighty-eight nurses completed the training finally. After three months of training and entering the clinical setting,the total scores of JSE-HP and CAI were higher after training than those before the training(P<0.05). As for the emotional labor scale,the scores of deep acting and emotional expression requirement dimension were higher than those before the training,while the score of surface acting dimension was lower than that before training(P<0.05). The reflection diary showed nurses had a firm professional belief and enhanced their humanistic qualities. Conclusion Clinical scene reappearance integrated with humanistic elements could effectively penetrate humanism and guide junior psychiatric nurses to learn and think together. It is helpful to improve their empathy ability,humanistic care ability,and emotional labor tendency.

    The application of the appreciative inquiry in management of clinical nursing teachers

    Objective To examine the effects of the appreciative inquiry in management of clinical nursing teachers. Methods Thirty-two clinical nursing teachers from a tertiary hospital in Anhui Province were recruited by convenience sampling. With the 4-D cycle model “discovery-dream-design-destiny” of the appreciative inquiry as the activity framework,4 sessions of nursing education guided by psychological counselors and participated by nursing manager were carried out through dialogues. After each dialogue,the nursing managers discussed,summarized,proposed improvement measures and plans,and carried out teaching reform. Nurses’ Career Success Scale and the Psychological Capital Questionnaire were used to investigate the effects of the appreciative inquiry before and after the intervention. Results A total of 29 clinical nursing teachers completed the study. After the implementation of the appreciative inquiry,the total scores of career success and psychological capital of clinical nursing teachers were(35.17±4.83) and(92.69±10.90) respectively,which were significantly higher than the corresponding scores of (31.83±3.38) and (84.48±11.14) respectively(t=3.344,P=0.002;t=2.768,P=0.010). Conclusion The appreciative inquiry can improve the level of career success and psychological capital of clinical nursing teachers.

    The status and influencing factors of practical teaching ability in teachers in community health service centers

    Objective To investigate the current situation and influencing factors of practical teaching ability in teachers in community health service centers. Methods A total of 281 teachers from 11 community health service centers were selected by convenient sampling and a questionnaire survey was conducted. Results The practical teaching ability score was(3.67±0.57). The provincial capital city,women,type of nursing specialty,frequency of training(>3 times),the duration of practical teaching(6~10 years,>10 years) and overall self-rated teaching effect entered into the equation,explaining 30.7% of the total variation. Conclusion Community teachers’ practical teaching ability is insufficient,and is affected by many factors such as the city where they live,training experience and so on. It is necessary to improve their practical teaching ability through multiple ways to ensure the teaching quality.

    Evidence summary for maternal and neonatal discharge care planning

    Objective To summarize the evidences for maternal and neonatal discharge care planning. Methods Search JBI,UpToDate,Cochrane Library,PubMed,CINHAL,International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics,The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality,American Collage of Obstetricians and Gynecologists,WHO,National Institute for Health and Care Excellence,Yimaitong,CNKI,Wanfang Databases,etc. The search time limit is from the establishment of the database to February 2021. After the literature quality evaluation,the evidence was extracted. Result A total of 12 references were included,including 3 clinical practice guidelines,4 systematic reviews,2 evidence summaries,2 expert consensus,1 randomized controlled trial. Sixteen pieces of evidence were obtained,including purpose of planning for discharge,participants in planning for discharge,guidance during hospitalization,pre-discharge evaluation,guidance on discharge,follow-up after discharge. Conclusion The evidence summarized in this study can provide a reference for clinical nurses to formulate maternal and neonatal discharge care planning,but the specific time of assessment and the division of tasks of nurses in discharge care planning still need further exploration.

    The effects of role paly as a nurse before surgery in children with ventricular septal defect

    Objective To investigate the effects of role play as a nurse before surgery in children with ventricular septal defect. Methods A convenience sampling was used to recruit 82 children who underwent catheter interventional closure of perimembrane ventricular septal defect from July 2019 to December 2020 as the experimental group. On the basis of routine preoperative education,every 2 children were divided into 1 group for nurse role playing. The process of postoperative lower limb fixation and wound compression was simulated during the role play. Another 79 children were enrolled as the control group from January 2018 to June 2019 and routine preoperative education was provided. The postoperative agitation score and incidence of vascular complications were compared between the two groups. Results There were interaction effects between groups and time of agitation evaluation(F=20.326,P<0.001). Simple effect analysis showed that the agitation score of children in the interventional group was lower than that of children in the control group when leaving the recovery room,1h and 2h after the surgery(P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the agitation score of the two groups at 3h after surgery(P>0.05). There was no significant differences in the incidence of wound oozing,hematoma,arteriovenous fistula and pseudoaneurysm in the two groups(P>0.05). Conclusion Children with ventricular septal defect should play the role of nurse before surgery,which can effectively reduce the irritability of children.

    Reliability and validity of the Chinese version of Cancer Distress Scales for Adolescent and Young Adults

    Objective To translate the Cancer Distress Scales for Adolescent and Young Adults(CDS-AYA),developed by McMaster University,Canada,and to test its reliability and validity. Methods A research group was established for the instrument translation and psychometric properties evaluation. The forward translation and back translation of the scale were carried out following the FACIT translation model. Final contents of the scale were established through culture adaption,cognitive interviews and pilot survey. To examine the validity and reliability of the instrument,a total of 505 young cancer patients recruited by convenience sampling were surveyed from April to September 2020. Among them,30 patients were selected to complete the instrument 2 weeks later. Six experts were invited to evaluate the content validity. The psychometric properties of the instrument was evaluated by calculating the internal consistency,structure validity,and content validity. Results The revised Chinese version of CDS-AYA has 6 dimensions(cancer impact,body,emotion,cognition,cancer concern,employment/academic) and 50 items. The content validity index of each item ranged from 0.83 to 1.00. Exploratory factor analysis showed that the cumulative variance contribution rate of the 6 factors was 70.079%. Confirmatory factor analysis supported the measurement model with χ2/df=2.886,GFI=0.656,AGFI=0.624,CFI=0.809,NFI=0.736,IFI=0.810,TLI=0.800. The Cronbach’s α of the scale was 0.971 and ranged from 0.892 to 0.962 for the 6 subscales. The test-retest reliability was 0.963. Conclusion The Chinese version of CDS-AYA has good reliability and validity. The model fit is good,and can be used to screen and assess psychological distress in young cancer patients in China.

    The current status and influencing factors of chemotherapy-related diarrhea in patients with advanced colorectal cancer

    Objective To investigate the current status and influencing factors of chemotherapy-induced diarrhea (CID) in patients with advanced colorectal cancer. Methods Advanced colorectal cancer patients who underwent combined chemotherapy in a tertiary cancer hospital in Fujian from January 2020 to June 2021 were recruited. The general information and diarrhea of patients were retrospectively analyzed by self-made questionnaire. Results A total of 1 176 chemotherapy sessions were completed in 224 patients with colorectal cancer,and 622 chemotherapy-induced diarrhea occurred. The case-time incidence of CID was 52.9%. The incidence of CID in advanced colorectal cancer patients during chemotherapy showed a linear downward trend with the progress of the chemotherapy cycle(χ2=4.411,P=0.036). Logistic regression analysis showed that age≥65 years old(OR=1.643,P<0.001),ECOG score≥2 points(OR=1.379,P=0.009)and the bilirubin count≥13 mg/L(OR=2.435,P<0.001)were the influencing factors of chemotherapy-induced diarrhea in patients with advanced colorectal cancer. Conclusion Advanced colorectal cancer patients are prone to chemotherapy-induced diarrhea during chemotherapy,and the case-time incidence of CID decreases with the advancement of chemotherapy course. In clinical practice,we should focus on patients with age≥65 years old,ECOG≥2 points and the bilirubin count≥13 mg/L,and take corresponding preventive measures to reduce the occurrence of CID.

    Objective To explore the hotspots and trends of the development of operating room nursing from 2015 to 2021 and provide reference for the discipline research and nursing management. Methods The co-word cluster analysis was used to analyze the literature of operating room nursing in PubMed,Ovid,Embase,EBSCOhost databases from 2015 to 2021 via BICOMB and gCLUTO software. Results A total of 834 articles were included.Articles mainly concentrated on 7 aspects,including cooperation in robot operations,evaluation and clinical training of nurses and students in the operating room,interdisciplinary cooperation in operating room and professional attitude,occupational exposure protection,mental health of medical staffs,optimization of nursing quality and work flow process,and patient safety and implementation of standard and guidelines. Conclusion Research hotpots mainly focus on multidisciplinary cooperation,advocate the precise cooperation of emerging surgical methods,pay attention to the mental health of medical staff and nursing education,focus on patient safety and emphasize the standardization of nursing management. The co-word cluster analysis is helpful to understand the research status and development trend of this field and provide reference for clinical and scientific research and teaching work in the operating room.

    Application of the Mini-CEX in nursing teaching:a scoping review

    Objective To review the studies on the application of Mini-CEX in nursing teaching. Methods Scope review method was used to analyze the included articles. The Data of CNKI,Wanfang Data,VIP,CBM,Web of Science,PubMed,Cochrane Library and Embase were comprehensively searched from the establishment of the database to June 10,2021. Results A total of 137 articles were included. The results showed that the application of Mini-CEX in nursing teaching at home and abroad had been widely used. However,the instructor training and the scale items were not standardized,the scoring criteria were not refined,and the evaluation feedback was not rigorous in China. Conclusion The application of Mini-CEX is conducive to improve the quality of nursing teaching and is of great significance to enhance the comprehensive ability of nurses and students. However,a set of instructor training systems should be constructed,the scale should be improved and refined according to the actual learning situation,the evaluation process should be standardized,and a scientific feedback mechanism should be formed.
