Advances in the application of extended reality technology in nursing education

Abstract:

Extended reality(XR) technology,encompassing virtual reality(VR),augmented reality(AR),and mixed reality(MR),integrates computer technology,wearable devices,and artificial intelligence to create immersive or semi-immersive learning environments. This provides innovative pedagogical tools for nursing education. This article systematically reviews the current application status of XR technology in nursing education. It focuses on analyzing its specific implementations,covering aspects such as technological characteristics and educational challenges,diversified application scenarios and their comprehensive effectiveness,as well as economic cost-benefit analysis within the field. The aim is to provide a theoretical foundation and practical guidance for fostering innovation in nursing education and talent cultivation.
