Abstract:

Objective To understand the content of family support for women with abnormal fetal induction during labor induction，and to provide reference for family support for this group in the future. Methods From September 2021 to September 2022，11 women with fetal abnormalities induced abortion were selected as the research subjects for semi-structured interviews，and content analysis was used for data analysis. Results The total length of all interviews was 490 minutes and more than 60，000 words were transcribed. Four themes emerged from the data：effective participation of family members in medical decision making（collecting medical information resources actively，making medical decision collaboratively），companionship of family members（companionship of spouses and other important family members），emotional support（caring and understanding，empathy and motivation），material and behavioral support（material support，behavioral support）. Conclusion Women with abnormal fetal induction have great pressure of medical choice and negative emotions. Medical staffs should actively evaluate the family support needs of women with abnormal fetal induction，guide family members to participate in the medical decision-making，delivery process and postpartum recovery，and provide comprehensive and multi-angle family support for them.
