Abstract: In the United Kingdom,nurse practitioners have been involved in the community health centers,emergency departments,pediatrics,etc. Nurse practitioners have the right to prescribe medicines which improves the efficiency and the effectiveness of health services,and decreases social costs. This article introduced the history,current status,training requirements,management and evaluation of nurse
practitioners in the United Kingdom. We suggested to explore the ways that nurse practitioners can be involved in,build up tailored training system,develop concrete management system,and expand the nurse practitioner resources.
