Abstract:

Objective To translate the Learning Immersion Scale in clinical Simulation(LISS) and test its reliability and validity among nursing students. Methods According to the Brislin’s translation model, the Chinese version of the LISS was culturally revised by the forward-back translation, cultural adjustment and pilot survey from July to September 2022. A total of 250 nursing students were investigated by the convenience sampling method. The content validity was tested by six experts. The exploratory factor analysis was used to evaluate the structural validity. In addition, the internal consistency, and re-test reliability of the scale were evaluated. Results The Chinese version of LISS included four dimensions(cognitive assimilation, emotional buy-in,focused attention and learning experience) and 16 items. Exploratory factor analysis extracted four common factors, and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 88.266%. The content validity of the total scale and each item was 0.983,and 0.890~1.000 respectively. Cronbach’s α coefficient of the total scale and each dimension was 0.980,and 0.904~0.964 respectively. The re-test reliability was 0.913. Conclusion The Chinese version of the LISS has good reliability and validity, which can be used as an effective tool to evaluate the nursing students’ immersion in clinical simulation learning.
