Abstract:

Methods A total of 393 nurses with experience in cancer and/or heart disease nursing were selected as participants through convenience sampling. The self-designed Questionnaire of Nurses’ Learning Needs and Management Attitude towards Cancer and Heart Disease was used for investigation. Results The correct rate of 393 nurses’ knowledge about cardio-oncology was low. Only three of the 10 questions reached a correct rate of more than 60%. The scores of nurses’ learning needs and management attitude were(20.56±3.21) and(21.67±3.00),respectively. Univariate analysis showed that nurses in different departments and working experiences had different knowledge levels of cardio-oncology(P<0.05). Nurses worked in different hospital types, professional titles, work experience, and cardio-oncology services or facilities in their hospitals had different learning needs(P<0.05). Nurses with different educational backgrounds, work experience, and cardio-oncology services or facilities in their hospitals held different management attitudes(P<0.05). Conclusion Nurses hold a strong demand for knowledge education, whose knowledge level of cardio-oncology needs to be improved. Nursing managers should strengthen the training of nurses in the management of cardio-oncology,popularize relevant theoretical knowledge to further improve the nursing quality of clinical nurses.
