Abstract:

Objective To construct the admission and competency evaluation index system for mentors of master of nursing specialist(MNS). Methods By literature and theories reviewing and expert opinions,a preliminary competency index system for mentors of MNS was constructed. Delphi Technique was used to filter indicators, and 26 experts in the field of nursing education, nursing management, and clinical nursing were included. A total of 2 rounds of expert letter consultations were conducted. Analytic hierarchy process was applied to determine the weight of indicators. Results The efficiency of two rounds of inquiry papers was 85.7% and 86.7%,respectively. The Kendall’s W coordination coefficients of two rounds of expert consultation were 0.254 and 0.238(P<0.001),respectively. The authority coefficient was 0.93. Finally,5 admission indicators for mentors of MNS were constructed. The final competency evaluation index system for mentors of MNS included 4 first-level indicators,9 second-level indicators, and 41 third-level indicators. Conclusion The competency evaluation index system for mentors of MNS is highly scientific and reliable. It can provide an objective reference for nursing colleges to select, train, assess and evaluate mentors for MNS in the future.
