Abstract: Structured education that can improve self-management behaviors and metabolic control，and reduce complications of patients with diabetes，was the preferred form recom-mended by international guidelines. The definition，characteristics，and criteria of structured education，and the devel-opment，implementation，and effect assessment of diabetes structured education program，were reviewed in this paper，which aimed to provide references for the development and implementation of structured education program among patients with diabetes in China.
