Abstract: Objective To investigate the prevalence of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy among cancer patients, and to explore the predictors based on the theory of unpleasant symptoms. Methods A total of 254 can-cer patients recruited from one tertiary hospital by convenience sampling from July 2017 to July 2018 were assessed with questionnaires of Chemotherapy-induced Peripheral Neuropathy Assessment Tool(CIPNAT),Patient Health Ques-tionnaire-9(PHQ-9)and Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS). Results The prevalence of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy was 74.02%. Multiple linear regression showed that cancer stage, depression and social support could explain 53.4% of the total variation of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy among cancer patients. Conclusion The prevalence of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in patients with cancer is on a high level. Nurses should pay attention to patients’ depression and social support, make nursing intervention plans for patients, and improve their quality of life.
