Abstract:

Objective To explore the application effects of a three-dimensional virtual anatomical model in lung ultrasound training for nurses in the intensive care department. Methods A total of 120 nurses from the intensive care department in a tertiary hospital in Henan Province were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group. Besides the training used in the control group, nurses in the experimental group were trained with a three-dimensional virtual anatomical model of lung. Through the 3D medical image visual analysis research platform, the CT data of patients with lung diseases were transformed into lung anatomical models which were three-dimensional and virtual. The mentors wore augmented reality glasses to completely overlap the virtual anatomical model with the modeled patient. According to the improved bedside lung ultrasonic evaluation scheme, the ultrasonic images of each screening point were obtained through the ultrasonic probe. The nurse watched the ultrasonic image and the corresponding virtual anatomical model during the mentor’s operation through the display screen. After the training, the theoretical and operational skills of the two groups of nurses were assessed, the operation time and the course satisfaction was also assessed. Results The theoretical scores, lung ultrasonic sign recognition scores, operation skill scores, bat sign scanning scores and training satisfaction scores of nurses in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). The operation time of nurses in the experimental group was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion The application of three-dimensional virtual anatomical model is helpful for nurses to understand the ultrasonic image and operation requirements of lung. Nurses are satisfied with the training highly.
