Video teaching was used to train clinical skills(2 teaching hours). Students were required to record their skills performance and submit the videos. Their performance in the videos were commented and discussed online by the teachers. Regarding the clinical thinking training(4 teaching hours),case teaching, virtual simulation system as well as online discussion and reflection were used. Case teaching was comprised of comprehensive case analysis and unfolding case analysis. A questionnaire survey was used to investigate students’ recognition of the online teaching mode. Results Students supported unfolding case analysis(92%)and comprehensive case analysis(90%). They reported that the online teaching could strengthen the ability to use knowledge comprehensively(95%),improve humanistic literacy(91%),and enhance critical thinking and decision-making skills(87%). Conclusion Online teaching in the clinical teaching of Neonatal Nursing has good effects.
