Abstract:

Objective To construct a Hospice Care course for nursing undergraduates and explore the application effect. Methods Through literature review and preliminary survey of students’ needs, the Hospice Care course was preliminarily developed. Two rounds of expert letter consultation among 20 experts were conducted. From September to November 2020,35 students were recruited and the new developed Hospice Care was provided. After the course teaching, students’ satisfaction was investigated. Results The effective recovery rates of two rounds of expert consultation were 100%(20/20) and 90%(18/20),respectively. The Kendall’s W coordination coefficients were 0.169 and 0.207(P<0.05). The final course consisted of objectives(objectives for memory,understanding,application,emotion,17 items in total),contents(8 chapters and 41 sub-items),the total hours(16 h),and third semester when the course was provided. After the course, students all agreed that the course was necessary,twenty-four students were very satisfied with the teaching contents, and all students believed that they had achieved the learning goals. Conclusion The Hospice Care for nursing undergraduates was comprehensive, scientific, reliable. and feasible.
