Abstract:

Objective To explore the effects of data-driven teaching applied in Pediatric Nursing. Methods The data-driven teaching was adopted to teach the nursing undergraduates of Grade 2015 in the experimental group(n=89). We built up the characteristics picture of each student based on the data collected, made personalized assignments, taught in the classroom, and examined their performance. The nursing undergraduates of Grade 2014 in the control group(n=87) were taught by the traditional online and offline teaching model. At the end of the course, students’ online learning data and their evaluation of the course were compared between the two groups. Results The total number of students who used online resources was 378. The total number of discussion participation was 546. The examination score of the experimental group was(75.55±20.45),while it was(69.35±19.80)of the control group. The difference of the examination scores between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total score of students’ evaluation to the course of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Data-driven teaching can meet the learning needs of students’ individualized development, strengthen the interaction between instructors and students, and improve the teaching effects.
