Abstract:

Objective To develop Hospice Care course under the Micro-Specialty platform and to explore a new talent cultivation model. Methods A Hospice Care course was offered under the micro-specialty program of “Lifecycle Health Management”,consisting of two components:online theoretical learning through Massive Open Online Course(MOOC) and offline workshop practice. Teaching effectiveness was evaluated through both formative and summative assessments. Results A total of 18 nursing undergraduates of Soochow University enrolled in the course, the average online score was 92.34±2.63,and the pass rate of the offline practical skills assessments remained above 95%. The majority of students demonstrated strong willingness to pursue careers in hospice care and professional identity. The course had established a stable delivery mechanism and the online teaching resources had been extended to 14 universities, with 861 nursing undergraduates completing the online theoretical courses. Conclusion The development of the Hospice Care courses under the micro-specialization perspective has achieved preliminary results. However, further optimization of the curriculum structure and clinical placement arrangements is needed to better align with students’ developmental needs and workforce demands.
