Abstract:

Objective To explore the methods and effects of health education for urolithiasis surgery patients through the pre-hospital management platform,so as to provide references for improving the effect of health education for patients with short hospitalization time. Methods Patients admitted to a tertiary-level A hospital for upper urinary tract stones who were scheduled to undergo ureteroscopy/flexible ureteroscopy surgery and had a hospital stay of ≤3 days from August 2022 to December 2022 were selected as the study subjects. Among them, patients admitted through the hospital’s pre-hospital management platform were assigned to the experimental group, while those directly admitted through the outpatient department were assigned to the control group. All patients received routine health education upon admission;the experimental group underwent one systematic health education session at the pre-hospital management center. The disease knowledge level and specific lifestyle adherence of the two groups were compared one month after discharge from the hospital. Results Patients in the test group had higher disease knowledge scores than those in the control group [17(16,18) vs 12.5(10.5,14),Z=10.162,P<0.001],and higher idiosyncratic lifestyle adherence scores than those in the control group[22(20,24) vs 17(15,20),Z=8.026,P<0.001]. Conclusion Health education through the prehospital management platform helps urolithiasis surgery patients with short hospitalization time to acquire disease-related knowledge and improve their lifestyle.
