Abstract: Objective To investigate the level of professional self-concept of nursing interns，and to analyze the effects of psychological distress and self-efficacy on professional self-concept of nursing interns. Methods A total of 262 nursing interns were investigated by the Professional Self-concept of Nurses Instrument，the 10-item Kessler Psychological Distress Scale，and the General Self-efficacy Scale. Results The professional self-concept of nursing interns was at a positive level as a whole. The experience of being the student leader，psychological distress and self-efficacy were all related to the professional self-concept of nursing （P<0.05）. Conclusion Nursing educators should pay attention to the mental health education of nursing interns and improve their self-efficacy，so as to help them improve their professional self-concept.
