Abstract:

Objective To explore the effect of surgical nursing scene segmentation video combined with ALACT reflection model in the training of newly recruited in the operating room. Methods Using convenience sampling,31 new nurses who rotated in the operating room from August 2018 to July 2020 were enrolled as the control group, while 33 newly recruited nurses rotating from August 2021 to August 2023 were assigned to the experimental group. The control group received routine orientation training, whereas the experimental group received training that integrated surgical nursing scene segmentation video with the ALACT reflection model,in addition to the standard orientation program. The two groups were compared in terms of training processes, final theoretical and practical assessment scores, nurses’ core competencies, and the operating room team’s satisfaction with their performance. Results The experimental group had better training process and final theoretical and practical assessment scores than the control group(P<0.05),and the mean item scores of each dimension of self-rated and other-rated core competencies were higher in the experimental group than those in the control group(P<0.05);the satisfaction scores of surgeons and anesthesiologists were higher in the experimental group than those for the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion The training of surgical nursing scene segmentation video combined with ALACT reflection model helps to consolidate newly recruited nurses’ specialist knowledge and operational skills, improve core competencies, and enhance the satisfaction of the surgical team.
