Abstract:

Objective To construct a core competency index system for “double-qualified” midwifery teachers in undergraduate colleges. Methods Based on literature research,a draft of the core competency index system for “double-qualified” midwifery teachers in undergraduate colleges was firstly drafted. From April to May 2023,two rounds of consultation were conducted with 15 experts to establish the core competency indicator system. Results The effective recovery rate of the two rounds of expert consultation was 100%. The expert authority coefficient was 0.94,the Kendall’s coefficient of concordance was 0.359 and 0.394(both P<0.001),respectively. The final core competency index system for “double-qualified” midwifery teachers in undergraduate colleges consisted of five first-level indicators,16 second-level indicators, and 51 third-level indicators. Conclusion The construction process of the core competency index system for “double-qualified” midwifery teachers at undergraduate colleges is scientific and reliable, which can provide a basis for the selection, training, and evaluation of “dual-qualification” midwifery teachers in undergraduate colleges in China.
