Abstract:

Objective To summarize the relevant researches and limitations of virtual reality technology in nursing professional skills training. Methods The following databases including Wanfang,CNKI,VIP,SinoMed,Cochrane Library,PubMed,Web of Science,Embase were searched from inception to April 7,2021 regarding the virtual reality technology in nursing professional skills training. The articles were screened according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and the information in the articles was extracted and summarized. Results A total of 997 articles were retrieved, and 46 articles were finally included. The research mainly related to the effects of virtual reality technology in nursing professional skills training on students’ skill ability, theoretical knowledge,self-confidence,interest,cognitive ability,self-efficacy,and satisfaction. The main limitations were technical problems in the virtual system, defects during development, too much extra-curricular time occupation, and high requirements and high pre-construction costs. Conclusion With the continuous development of technology, the application of virtual reality technology has positive application effects on improving the skills of nursing students, and students’ learning satisfaction has been improved. Future research needs to explore the application effects of the combination of “virtual + reality” to further improve the operation level of students.
