Abstract:

Objective To investigate the mediating effect of coping style on perceived stress and sleep quality in young and middle-aged patients with coronary heart disease. Methods From August 2019 to July 2020,general information questionnaire,Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire,Perceived Stress Scale and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index were used to investigate 242 young and middle-aged patients with coronary heart disease in 5 affiliated hospitals of Xinxiang Medical University. Results The total score of perceived stress in young and middle-aged patients with coronary heart disease was(30.71±7.39). The score of confrontation dimension of coping mode was(18.11±3.93),avoidance dimension was(16.36±2.76),and resignation dimension was(9.86±3.10). The sleep quality score was(7.44±3.60). Perceived stress and coping mode explained 46.9% of the total variation of sleep quality, and coping mode mediated the relationship between perceived stress and sleep quality(confrontation:0.155;avoidance:0.079;resignation:0.087),P<0.05. Conclusion Perceived stress and coping mode can predict sleep quality in young and middle-aged patients with coronary heart disease, and coping mode plays a mediating role between perceived stress and sleep quality. Medical staff should pay attention to the coping mode of young and middle-aged patients with coronary heart disease and evaluate the coping mode of hospitalized patients,in order to take targeted measures to reduce their stress and improve their sleep quality.
